Ann Romney The Dog got sick because we gave him spoiled meat .....

.... not because he was scared witless being tied to the roof of the car.

http://www.nj.com/njvoices/index.ssf/2012/04/mitt_and_ann_romneys_dog_on_ro.html

"The dog loved it," she told Sawyer, claiming Seamus would leap up into the carrier whenever the
family traveled (suggesting, perhaps, that the roof-strapping technique was employed more than once).

And the diarrhea, which commentators have attributed to the dog's terror?

"He ate the turkey on the counter. I mean, he had the runs," she said, laughing. "He would see that
crate, and he would go crazy because he was going with us on vacation.

********

Bull crap story Ann. Dogs have good noses and can tell when meat will be bad for them.

1. My dogs eat rotten meat when they can get to it.

The deer carcasses that bloom after the snow melts are their favorite.

6. Yup--same experience with ours.

They're forever dragging bits of deer, well, aged dead mice, etc. home for snacks. God knows what delicacies they're eating out there that they DON'T bring home.

9. It always cracks me up when one comes trotting out of the woods with a deer leg in his mouth.

"Look! Aren't I good? I brought food back for EVERYBODY!"

10. Dogs can eat meat that would make humans sick but if the meat is so tainted ...

.... it would make the animal sick they will not touch it. Ann's story doesn't
pass the smell test.

I have raised, trained, worked, and lived with dogs for years and Ann's story doesn't
pass the smell test.

14. bad wording on my part sorry

Dogs will eat some things that will make them sick

Such as bones for the marrow and then later throw up the bone chips
and they will eat things that smell real bad and would make you or I
ill but in many cases it doesn't effect them. I have often given my dogs
old meat which they seem to love but in a very few cases if the meat is
well past its prime they will pass on it .... but if they were really hungry
or in the wild I guess they would have eaten it.

I have found that younger dogs if you switch their brand of kibble sometimes
tend to overeat (if given the chance) and get the runs.

BTW I doubt that older turkey meat could have given Seamus the runs.

22. Our dog got in our trash and got some old chicken (boneless skinless) we threw out

Imagine how happy I was to come home and see a dozen piles of vomit and another dozen puddles of shit all over my living room.

2. Some people stop digging when they find themselves in a hole.

The Rmoney's just get a bigger shovel.

I hope they just keep talking. It will be the best thing that ever happened for the Democratic party.

4. Well, my dogs will grab

perfectly good human food and then have the runs. They only get dry dog food so when they do get human food, their systems react. But more interesting to me is that Ann Romney remembered exactly what the dog had eaten all those many years ago. Not very likely.

The more they talk about it, the more people remember it.

"So, you put him on the roof MORE THAN ONCE?"

13. The most telling part of that interview, imo,

was how incredibly uncomfortable they both were. Forced smiles
and forced laughter. What a pathetic pair! In the back
of my mind, I kept hearing "Yeah, THAT's the ticket!"

I love that they keep talking about this. There are probably five or six people who haven't heard the story, glad they are reaching out.

24. The dog loved it so much, he shat himself then ran away

I am really starting to think that the Romneys don't have a self aware bone in their bodies. They just don't have any inkling of how a normal person hears what they say.

25. I had a dog bring in a chicken nugget that had been outside only God knows how long.

Before I could get to him, he ate it. Never had any effects at all from it.
Edited to add this:
If that meat Romney's dog ate was bad enough to make the dog sick, what in the hell was it left sitting on the counter for that long? It had to have been there at least a week or more.
I takes pretty rancid food to make a dog sick.

not have gotten sick...animals process such food much better than humans do...Ann is a lying sack of shit.

30. she did not say the meat was spoiled

back when I was a kid, we gave the dogs the scrapings from some ravioli that we were eating. He loved that, but later in the car, he had the runs all over the place.

Nothing wrong with the food, or his nose, but he still ate somethng that made him sick.
