Mitt faces up to 5 years in jail & $10,000 fine if he did not live in his son’s unfinished basementLast edited Tue Apr 17, 2012, 04:30 PM USA/ET - Edit history (3)
Mitt Romney, guilty of voter fraud?
Posted on April 17, 2012 Mitt Romney faces up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine if he did not live in his son’s unfinished basement in 2010 In January 2010 the former Massachusetts governor proudly cast a ballot for Republican Scott Brown in the special election to replace the late Sen. Ted Kennedy. He didn’t own property in the state at the time, and had registered to vote listing his son’s unfinished basement as his residence. Massachusetts law defines a residence for voter registration purposes as “where a person dwells and which is the center of his domestic, social, and civil life.” Anyone found guilty of committing voter fraud faces up to five years behind bars and a fine of $10,000.http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/23/romney-voter-fraud-allegations-loom-as-general-election-liability/ Is this exactly like that ‘voter fraud‘ thing that the Republicans are always trying to pretend the Democrats participate in? Except that the Democrats don’t? Mitt Romney’s motto: vote early and vote often! http://underthemountainbunker.com/2012/04/17/mitt-romney-guilty-of-voter-fraud/ ********************** If that’s true, Romney showed a true commitment to voting for Republican Senator Scott Brown in last year’s special election, since he owns a $12.5 million home in La Jolla, Calif. and a $10 million home in New Hampshire’s Lake Winnipesaukee – but no home in the state he was once governor. Not that he was exactly roughing it. Romney’s son Tagg and his wife greatly improved the property in recent years adding an in-ground pool and a jacuzzi to the rebuilt property that spans three old lots, bumping its assessed value up to $3.8 million. Still, as Belmont, Mass. property assessment records I dug up show, the basement is unfinished – hardly the standard the former investment banker would be used to. Here’s a portion of the property record (Belmont Property View). http://blogs-images.forbes.com/brendancoffey/files/2011/06/Belmont-Property-View.pdf I have edited the image to highlight the basement description. Here is the full record: http://blogs-images.forbes.com/brendancoffey/files/2011/06/Belmont-Property-View-full.pdf Belmont Property View full. As a public record you can find the full report also through the town of Belmont here. The property was last inspected by the town on June 21, 2010, well after the state’s January special election that filled Ted Kennedy’s old seat. Of course, as Karger argues to the Massachusetts Secretary of State, Romney likely didn’t live in the basement, so it appears like voter fraud, a crime punishable by up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine. http://www.forbes.com/sites/brendancoffey/2011/06/15/did-mitt-romney-live-in-his-sons-unfinished-basement-last-year/ ****************** The local fishmonger told Karger, “They flew the coop. They moved to California. I haven’t seen Mrs. Romney in over two years, and she used to come in here all the time.” Likewise, churchgoers used to worshiping with the Romneys told Karger that they also hadn’t seen the Romneys in a couple years. Yet the Romneys continued to vote in Massachusetts, including in the January 2010 special election to fill Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat. Karger says he even received personal confirmation from Ann Romney about the couple’s living arrangements. In April, Karger says he ran into her in Las Vegas at a meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition, where Mitt was speaking. According to Karger, Ann told him they are living in California.

I read somewhere of 7 total cases in WI (prior to the passage and now holding of our voter suppression law). Of those 7, at least 3 were people who had two residences like vacation homes who voted in both places they "lived". Of course, it's not the poor who have two homes. Wish I could find a link for this though.

Did Mitt Romney vote more than once in that election cycle? Does he have any evidence to prove he lived there? I can "say" I lived in the White House but would anyone believe me without proof? NO!!! So where's the proof that you lived there and were you and Mrs. Romney living there or was there some marital problems? This could be interesting if someone would do a little digging!

Sure, Rick Santorum has his own absentee problems, and who knows what sort of shenanigans Noot Gingrich has been up to while he's been sneaking around, but why didn't one of the early dropouts mention this? I have a pretty strong hunch that Romney WON"T actually be the candidate on the ballot in November. He'll probably make it through the Repube convention and get the nomination, but I'm pretty sure his Sept/Oct surprise is going to knock him completely out of the race. Then, they'll throw in whoever is next in line and it will be Newt's only chance to actually run for Pres since he would never actually win the nomination himself.........
I would only give it a 10% chance of Romney being on the ballot in Nov......so guess we'll just have to wait and see. |

I do not think that the Mormon religion teaches the behavior that Mitt has been displaying. Now, either they don't care (since he has donated millions to the church) or Mitt doesn't care and is not telling the truth about his commitment the Mormon religion. He just adores the almighty dollar.

91. Free Republic doesn't have any coverage of this story at all.
|
I don't know if they'd defend a RINO candidate anyway, but in a thread linking to a story about the allegations of voter fraud against Ann Coulter, they collectively chanted: "ACORN! ACORN! ACORN!" http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2181090/posts
But interesting how the right-wing Daily Caller got a hold of this story though. LOL at the top-liked comment: So is the election going to be between a possible bogus citizen of the US versus a possible bogus residence of Massachusetts?
Take your pick fellow Americans. |

92. Every state has a law that says how long you have to live
|
somewhere to be considered a resident for voting. He doesn't have to own anything, even living with his son would count but only if it was his main residence and that to me is the thing that I bet isn't true. He probably visited but didn't stay long enough to have it be considered his main place of residence. Usually that is where you file your taxes from also.
