The Fractured States of America. No more USA. We're now the FSA.

Red vs Blue.
Repug vs Dem.
Fox vs...what?
MSNBC?
At least they still have Maddow.
Limbaugh/Beck/O'Reilly/Coulter vs Olberman/Stewart/Colbert?

I almost miss CNN's CROSSFIRE!

Maybe they started the whole damn thing anyway.

"George Washington wrote. “We are either a united people, or we are not. If the former, let us, in all matters of a general concern act as a nation, which have national objects to promote, and a national character to support. If we are not, let us no longer act a farce by pretending it to be.”

Now we have an obstructionist House of Representatives who are vehemently against ANYTHING Obama (or proposed by the other party) and a Republican party whose primary avowed purpose is to deny the current president a second term.

We, as a country, are broken.
And I have no idea how to fix us.
Welcome to the FSA.

We'll take the rest after they have fracked their water supply and dehydrated to death. Either that or we'll just have to wait until the food riots are sorted out.

California is blue - we'll have food and we can work out our water problems.

And Red states are running out of water. They won't have that advantage for long. As for energy, hell, Texas imports theirs from Mexico, the Red states aren't all that secure with that, either.

Are you going to establish a dictatorship and order them out at gunpoint? Which would lead to civil war of course. What a great society you are going to create.

12. Not sure about the gunpoint thing but these Conservatives are ruining society already.

THEY may force a civil war ANYWAY. Look at all the gun sales since President Obama was elected, politicians getting shot, etc.

2. I have to agree with you, Frof and although I'm not sure where to start, it isn't irreparable.

It's just going to take ALOT of heavy lifting for those of us who can clearly see what's happening. Trust me, people ARE not happy with the state of affairs that is so blatantly obvious to you. That's why this House is so almost UNIVERSALLY reviled. I don't think they did any favors when they voted down the Buffet rule. People aren't stupid and they pissed that we are having to carry the tax burden on our back while the some of the richest on the planet refuse to pay their portion.

How to fix? No easy answers.

We need to address problems we've been ignoring for too long.

Media oligarchies. Corporate monopolies. Excessive executive pay. Unaudited voting machines. Corporate personhood. etc. etc.

Tons and tons of problems that are dragging us into the shitter. And fantasies of going back to the land, etc are just that: Fantasies.

What we lack in land area we more than make up for in education and income.

At least for a little while longer.
