3. I wonder how luxury items are fairing in the market?

Are luxury good sales up or down or the same?

8. That's why we need to teach art in school and expose the people to things

other than Kitsch and tacky ways of expressing themselves.

6. Never really liked those commercials, but this year...

they are really just over the top pretentious. You need a special exclusive gift to give a partner a car??

I don;t mind commercials for luxury gifts, mind you-- it's just these commercials are really arrogant. A crystal music box and a family leading a mom out to a car sitting in front of a three car garage???

A special guitar hero game playing the lexus theme song?

It's almost a F*ck you to those that are going without this year. I can't stand them. They really rub me the wrong way.

9. yes, I agree, especially as someone who can afford to buy a new car

for christmas is not going to need a commercial to persuade him to buy. Needless commercial in my opinion.

10. They are poor taste to me...

but I am not the target audience. I guess they don't have to pay a creative department much to run the same ad every year.

11. If my SO bought me a Lexus for Xmas I'd be pissed, not jumping for joy.

Big purchases like that should be family decisions.
