(8,492 posts)Are you just chasing down LZ posts to give shit to those who support the President? I'm gonna go ahead and give you my first hidden post on DU3. That's a pretty assholish move, not to mention childish.
With all the threads on DU, you'd think you'd have more to do. What will you do now that LZ is gone?
Damn. Sorry, the jury voted to leave it.
Electric Monk
(13,869 posts)Big difference.
Wait Wut
(8,492 posts)And, you came after someone that obviously kicked and recced the thread. It may not be denigrating, but it is odd, don't you agree?
There are hundreds of threads here. Yet, you had to go search for this one.
Electric Monk
(13,869 posts)I just searched (apple-F) for "K&R" and there it was.
Wait Wut
(8,492 posts)What was the purpose in coming to a defunct thread? And, what possessed you to reply to my post in particular? I'd love to know so we can all avoid this bullshit in the future.

When we banned him we wrote the reason as "Troll" because that's what he is and that's why he was banned.

(6,670 posts)He's a politician. I have no expectation of ever liking him, or any other politician, and don't see why that has anything whatsoever to do with who I think might be an effective leader, what their values are, what their preferred techniques for achieving those values are, or hos competent and skilled at those techniques they are.
I don't like how he takes the corporate position on nearly every large-scale economic issue, he refuses to prosecute upper-class criminals, his views on security and privacy are fully fascist, and I especially don't like how so many Obamabots argue that race and gender issues are somehow more important, as if a sudden influx of gays and minorities into the 1% would change the values of the 1% and magically fix global warming
Is he better than a condom inflated with Santorum? Sure thing. He's a competent president, no matter how much I like or dislike him. The republicans haven't offered anyone competent since Richard Nixon. And they're worse than they're ever been.
But I'd rather live in a country governed by Santorum than a country full of mindless cheerleaders. Because a country governed by him can always throw him out. A country full of believers has no such hope.

(3,836 posts)He is a thoughtful man.. he considers the consequences of his actions and I believe he has done his best to remain moral and true in spite of the tremendous struggle that faced him from day one.
What other President in history has had to deal with such constant blatant rudeness and lack of respect from his colleagues ? There was not only a lack of respect for him personally, but also a lack of respect for the office of President mostly because he held that office. What other President in history has had to hear the Majority leader say that his ONLY agenda was to bring down the President? What other President in history has been heckled in Congress during his SOTU address without any real consequence?
At the same time he was dealing with this outrageous, constant, day to day obstruction and animosity, he was also navigating through the obscene mine field that 8 years of the Bush cabal had left him. I don't agree with all his decisions, but I didn't expect to.. our President is not just there for me, he is the President for all the people and so I am not surprised that not everyone "got" what they desired right away. In spite of all that, I think he has been very successful in his first term.
He has stood tall and fierce - in the face of blatant racism, the lack of respect and the lies that are still being told about him. I cannot ever remember when a man in this office has been so rudely treated, but he showed everyone that he has real class and real gravitas even though he is despised by some for that as well..
He may not have been able to do everything he wanted to do. I believe he is still an idealist, but I would rather have an idealist in the highest office than a man with no imagination at all, one who speaks without thinking, who is easily swayed and who is ignorant and totally unaware.
Say what you will about President Obama, but considering the tasks he was given when he took office, we are still here, we did not go into a depression, things are actually looking up and I belieive that is a trend that will continue. The Iraq war -has- ended and I believe he will end the others as well.
I think our nation has been blessed to have someone as selfless as President Obama. I wonder how many men out there could have weathered the same kind of storm and come out with his spirit intact and with the energy and vision to continue on?
Even though I am on DU, I expect there will be some sort of flaming for this.. but whatever.. I worked for President Obama in the last election and I sure as hell will do so again!
Love,
Solar
