GOP Mantras Equate Veterans Benefits With Welfare.

As a veteran of Vietnam I did not need to use any veteran's benefits to speak of. Yet I worked with and knew many fellow vets who needed them very badly. We were treated like dog dun for the most part. Nixon vetoed a raise int he GI Bill in 1969 that would have raised my education benefits $25 a month because WE COULD NOT AFFORD IT. The GOP was against it too. They were against the GI Bill after WWII. They did NOTHING to help the Korean War vets and left them on their own.

The GOP has opposed veterans benefits for our recent war vets and many are homeless. The Ryan budget would hurt veterans because GOP code talk equates veterans as welfare recipients. The GOP has put the budget into such a mess that it forces cuts in veterans pension and medical benefits. It is too much of a burden on society.

The GOP even supports changing the military retirement system to a 401k system cashable at 59 1/2 and vouchers for private insurance for Tricare. And they wanted to contract out MASH units.

Why any vet would vote GOP is beyond me. As far as I am concerned if the enemy were threatening a Republican politician or took one captive I would not help them and I would not pay a penny of ransom for one of these GOP bastards.

Who will be our Major General Smedley Butler this time?

The GOP supports the Military-Industrial-Corporate complex, NOT veterans.

They are not interested in the individual soldier/sailor/marine, but only in lucrative contracts for weapon systems.

They'd rather spend a billion on a questionable aircraft than a million on body armor.

They'd rather spend a billion on a questionable fleet of ships than a million on veteran's benefits.

Time to expose the GOP for what it is: A fucking shit-sucking piece of fucking shit.

men and women who decide to go into the military and help protect all of us. They are all of us in our communities. I am always surprised soldiers support republicans. But all I know is that my father-in-law (24 yrs and retired), my dad (22 yrs and retired) and my husband (21 yrs and retired) all were and are democrats. They would never think of voting for republicans. But they always respected and supported the commander in chief.

It's the Democrats who turn their backs on them.

Only good vet is the one they don't have to pay a dime.

By the way earned benefits...earned benefits, earned benefits. Time to use language that makes the point.

(Entitlements is correct, but it's been demonized).

Oh and welcome home.
