Well I certainly think that Mittens might be in an uphill battle

in his own party.

This was on a very CONSERVATIVE friend's post:

Hillary Rosen was in no way demeaning stay-at-home moms (we used to call them homemakers or housewives) in her comment about Ann Romney's work history. The phrase, "Hasn't worked a day in his/her life" has been around longer than the minimum wage law (a long time). My mother was a housewife, homemaker and stay-at-home mom (by the way, maternal status has nothing to do with this but "mom" is a word that commands respect) and she worked hard. She has no idea what a wage earning occupation is all about.

Ann Romney has lived a live of moderate privilege. She had no compulsion to get out and get a job. I don't hate rich people but few of them can tell me what its like to be poor. I resent the implication that Ms Rosen in any way said that housework is not work. Ann Romney is just as far removed as her husband from the working class. And the Romneys, are in good company. No one in politics at the national level has any personal connection to the working class, the working poor or those in poverty. Why must that think they can identify with any of them?

7. I was thinking their faux outrage would back fire

because every working woman that doesn't really want to work would be thinking this very thing. They would be thinking "What does THIS woman KNOW about being a working mother or normal stay at home mother? What would she know about NOT HAVING THE CHOICE?

On edit: I do disagree with her believing all the pols haven't been where average Americans are...I'm sure the Obama's had many months or even years where they wondered if their paychecks were going to cover the bills. I know Al Franken wasn't always well to do either and Joe Biden wasn't any Darrall Issa, that's for sure....
