Message to "Pro-Life" Kansans: "You treat women like Pink Slime ... "

This makes me ill. I know Dr. Kristin Neuhaus and she is a warm, caring, compassionate doctor who did nothing illegal. She was caught up in the insane war on women which has been ongoing in Kansas for 20 years.

WHEN WILL IT STOP?

From an email I just received:

Friday, April 13th, 2012 Topeka, Ks. - This morning in a basement "office" the Kansas Board of Healing Arts will revoke the medical license of Dr. Ann Kristin Neuhaus after what KC Pitch magazine writer Justin Kendall described:

" ... Neuhaus is one of the last links to Wichita abortion provider George Tiller, who was murdered in May 2009 while attending a Sunday church service. From 1999 to 2006, Neuhaus provided second-opinion mental health exams to determine whether the late term abortions that some women sought at Tiller's clinic were medically necessary. That step was required by Kansas law.

Three Kansas attorneys general tried to prosecute Tiller for his arrangement with Neuhaus. Tiller eventually was charged with having an improper financial relationship with Neuhaus. He was acquitted of the misdemeanor in March 2009. The doctor was assassinated two months later by Scott Roeder, who had attended Tiller's trial and was seen sitting next to Operation Rescue president Troy Newman. ..." http://www.pitch.com/kansascity/kristin-neuhaus_phill-kline_abortion_kansas-board-of-healing-arts_george-tiller/Content?oid=2691151

Members of the same Operation Rescue, including Kansans for Life and others will be crowded into that small basement room to cheer on what award winning investigative journalist Dave Lindorff has described as a "witch hunt" in nationwide articles.http://www.thiscantbehappening.net/node/1091

This matter will not be settled by this body of people, who are largely not medical doctors, but politically appointed by Gov. Sam Brownback and are incapable of knowledgeably deciding Dr. Ann Kristin Neuhaus' professional stature after she healed over 9,000 women (without a single credible complaint to this same board).

The "pro-life" Kansas Board of Healing Arts, as the overwhelming majority in the Kansas legislature and most of all, Gov. Sam Brownback are treating women like the pieces of wasted meat in a slaughter house, popularly known as "pink slime."

The War on Women will begin to be opposed in Kansas this April 28th, 2012 at the Topeka, Ks. statehouse steps beginning at 11:30AM.

What's / who's next on the agenda. Lovely place.

seemingly non-stop shenanigans by the RW power brokers in KS have now convinced me to seek my fortunes elsewhere. It's a shame, because KS people are nice.

He's the worst governor I've ever encountered in living in a number of states over the years. Why, people voted for him is beyond me. I guess we'll be one more statistic he doesn't understand about why people leave KS.

25. Thanks!!! I like Kansas, I find the eastern part beautiful as is the rest of

Kansas. It gets a bad rap because of the crazy RW politicians here that get in the press and into office. It's a damn shame. I find the past couple of years with Brownback unbelievable. All of the authoritarianism and the trampling of civil rights. And I really question this plan he's pushing on no income tax and minimal corp. tax.

We've worked so hard on the house and grounds here over the past 12 years or so, but the politics are really really getting to us anymore. I have a chance to return to New England and I just don't want to pass it up this time.

27. "People will migrate," the governor said. Yep, Sam, they'll migrate all right,

right out of Kansas. I know a number of people now thinking of moving, they're just fed up with it all. The authoritarianism, invasiveness, talk of small government while eroding civil rights, and financial schemes that will not IMO benefit the majority of Kansans. What he did to that poor girl, for example, that tweeted the remark during her Wichita visit to hear the governor speak was completely unbelievable and revealed how he thinks, and made us look like fools again. These people give Kansas such an unfair image.

I'm not surprised he wants to play the fear card. I find him a hateful and evil man. No, I hadn't seen this, thanks for sending it along. It further cements my idea of his agenda which IMO has little to do with being good for the majority of Kansans. What a shame.

We have too much based on fear in this country, and here comes Sam, using it for his political gain. And I suppose we will hear Yoder praising the plan. It all gets weird, very very weird. This is a beautiful state and these people are screwing everything up IMO.

10. Kansas has fallen victim to the ambitions of Republican hacks

As someone who was born and raised in Kansas and still has family there, I am sickened by the cynical political games played by retrogrades like Phill Kline and Sam Brownback.

One of my family members who was in Brownback's graduating class at KU Law recalls when Brownback graduated and was considering a career in politics, he canvassed a number of his classmates to see whether they thought he should run as a pro-life or pro-choice candidate.

Now we see the fruits of Brownback's personal principles and conviction. He's moved from candidate Brownback who considered reproductive choice as a ticket to election to governor Brownback who sees it as a way to consolidate power for himself and his political party.

And the citizens of Kansas, most of whom are good, sincere people, have been lead by the nose the whole time, believing that these assholes really believe the crap they campaign on.

The hottest corner of Hell is too good for Brownback and his ilk.

13. It is, isn't it. In many parts of the country we see religion used as a tool

for their agendas and shenanigans. I read an article once, and I don't have the link, but the bottom line of the article was that the faithful are the easiest to manipulate because they want to believe in something.

So, these operatives tend to use religion as their leverage for their shenanigans. We see it all the time in politics. And we see often that some politicians and some religious leaders are often out for themselves, using the faithful as tools.

I've always thought of religion as pure politics.

...which is not at all. He's just has no compunction about using faux piety for personal gain.

Kevin does what's best for Kevin. Sam does what's best for Sam. It's not about personal beliefs. It's about getting elected.
