Promoting dangerous ideologies, like the anti-vaxx crowd, and Andrew Wakefield is dangerous, and shouldn't be tolerated.
Shrugging it off as difference of opinion is dishonest. There is no opinion. There is only fact when it comes to stuff like this.

And getting a post hidden for calling someone out for PUBLICLY supporting a convicted criminal in a pro-vax thread is bullshit.

If you are anti-vaccine, you ARE an enemy of the people. Plain and simple. This IS a black and white situation. There is no middle ground. It is the anti-vax crowd that has brought back wonderful diseases like measles and pertussis into the public sphere.

Vaccines DO NOT cause autism. The current vaccination schedule is not a terrible thing (there are terrible fucking diseases out there).

2. On a poster who continued to post

dangerous and at some points, right wing new sources.

I've had more vicious personal attacks levied at me than a simple pun on someone's username. Plain and simple, I was calling out said user's LACK of wisdom on said subject.

The poster then posted praise for Andrew fucking Wakefield. But I'm the asshole.

If I was on this site posting climate change denialism, or op-ed pieces by David Duke, I'd be escorted out the door quickly. Why is it OK to post anti-vaxx bullshit??

You take your chances. The jury hid your personal attack.

I think anti-vaxxers are doing a great disservice to people. I often say that to them. But, I refrain from calling them names. It's a good way to avoid hidden posts.

Anti-vaxxers / Wakefield defenders should be treated exactly the same at DU as chemtrailers. They should have posting privileges revoked, under the Crazy Talk section of the Terms of Service.
