Two men could be seen on video reacting to the shooting of unarmed teen Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., in what CNN described on Wednesday night as exclusive footage shot by a bystander on a cellphone. "He had his fucking hands in the air!" one of the men is heard shouting in the moments after the Aug. 9 shooting of the black teen by a white police officer. CNN aired the footage during "Anderson Cooper 360" and said it was filmed by an unidentified man near the scene of the shooting. CNN also talked to the two men who were shown on the video.
The men, who didn't wish to be identified, told CNN they witnessed the shooting from about 50 yards away. The man shown in the video in a pink shirt told CNN that they heard one gun shot followed by another about 30 seconds later. He said he saw Brown staggering and putting his hands up saying "Okay, okay, okay" but that "the cop didn't say get on the ground, he just kept shooting."
The man in the green shirt told CNN he saw Brown running away from the police car with his hands up as the officer chased him. He also said the police officer shot Brown again when his back was turned, according to CNN. The network said the two men have no connection to Michael Brown or his family. CNN reported that their accounts corroborate what other witnesses have reported: that Brown had his hands in the air and his back to Officer Darren Wilson when he was shot.

What a dilemma for racist shitheads.
What's really interesting is how worked up and incredulous these contractors seem to be - not knowing that they are being videotaped and generally acting without any guile or concern for future presentation: "He had his fuckin' hands in the air."
What oh what will the "wait and see" clowns have to say about this?

(3,724 posts)at what they'd just seen. They can't believe it. It's a shame that the reaction of these two white guys from out of town will be what's needed for people to accept that Michael Brown was defenseless and surrendering when Wilson gunned him down.

(11,253 posts)The black witnesses would need to be backed up by white witnesses to be credible.

(3,724 posts)The testimony of the black witnesses needn't be believed unless white outsiders can verify it.

(27,461 posts)since they knew what happened with such certainty the day the shooting happened, they ridicule anyone who admits any ignorance or uncertainty.
If anyone claims this new evidence is important, then that suggests there was any doubt what happened, which makes them a clown.
I fall in that category: this evidence is important.

(11,360 posts)... it doesn't matter how many witnesses there are. Their "opinions" about what they saw count for less than the officer's story. This has happened before - that's why this incident is so important.

(62,325 posts)I wonder will it matter. Cops like our elected officials, are pretty much immune from consequences to their actions.
I had hoped that Ferguson might finally be the tipping point, but predictably, as soon as the media left, we moved on.

(13,598 posts)The important question is "how many witnesses testified under oath early on, before details of the case were splashed all over the media", I think.

Lets see:
Moving away - shots fired - 5 or 6 witness
Arms up - shots fire - 4 witness
Dropping to his knees - shot fired - 3 witness
Audio Recording - 10-12 shots in two groups
Video Recording - spontaneous utterances of he had his hands up etc
Fighting with Officer - Officer by others
Fighting over Weapon in car - Officer by others
Weapon discharged in car - Officer by others
Damage to officers eye - Medical report not released
Officers statement - not released
Police logs of incident ( radio report) - not released
I forgot an third review of the wounds that showed he was shot at least twice while "down".
Any witness yet that support the "unofficial" officers's version of the incident?

The MSM may have moved on, especially now that it's looking worse for a RW 'hero', but the DOJ has not.
There's a reason Wilson hasn't reared his ugly head yet.

(62,325 posts)And, if this case ends up the way most of these cases have, with no charges by the local authorities, or an acquittal, the DOJ can make a Federal Case rather than what usually happens,

(18,124 posts)I think the 60's fight for the right to vote and the right to be seen as a 100 per cent man/women, compared to white people and not just 3/5 of a man/woman was in principle the right fight/thing to do. Yet what have we ended up with? The ability to vote in a system where the most power/money/influence is in the hands of the few and the crumbs thrown to the fux news crowd keeps them happy enough to continue to defend this corrupt system that favors their skin color over all others, still. They have the RW media reminding them continually of that privilege system with photos of blacks shot down in the streets by state sanctioned execution and agitating the hate of those 'others' that are destroying their country of blatant bigotry and racism of all kinds.
All those murders I witnessed for this right to vote? Damn near meaningless. As seen today, those rights, hard fought for were nothing more than a placation tool for those brown skinned people. Nothing more, nothing less. Given that those crumbs are being taken away, again today in 2014, by our politicians and high court, I am truly disillusioned more than ever now and highly distrustful of a certain element vying for power and rule in this country.

Now, I feel so much sadness for our country. It's being torn apart from within by the few who could care less about the country's welfare.

(15,237 posts)I understand reasonable doubt from the defense but without the shooters statement which is being paid for by the citizens of Ferguson this mess just gets worse. It would be interesting if there is actually a statement in writing from officer Wilson or did he invoke the 2nd amendment for self incrimination and not write a report? Most Police departments remove the officer immediately from the scene of the shooting as policy for officers self protection and to preserve evidence. Wilson was allowed to linger and pace around the body who is to say what his state of mind was at that time? Did his continued presence constitute a threat to the public? Obviously the witnesses were horrified.
What I expect is some sort of plea bargain and this will never come to trial. Given the level of stupid in the local Police Departments anything is possible.
