Roseville Police say bank robber paid stranger for getaway ride
BY CHRISTINE FERRETTI THE DETROIT NEWS

Roseville — A 34-year-old Detroit man is expected to face charges Thursday on allegations he robbed a Comerica Bank and offered a stranger money to get a ride away from the scene.

Police say after obtaining the money, the suspect fled across Gratiot to a gas station parking lot and was seen leaving the lot in a white vehicle driven by another man.

Authorities from Eastpointe apprehended the driver near Eight Mile and Kelly. The bank robbery suspect fled but was arrested a short time later, police said.

Officers are interviewing the driver, who police believe did not know about the bank robbery. Police say the driver was approached by the suspect, who offered him money for a ride.
