Seems one group of DU chickens always cried "the sky is falling, the sky is falling". Then another group of chickens said. "we're tired of all your gloom and dooming around here, could you please stop over reacting"? Well the sky is falling chickens didn't like that- so they went to tell Colonel Sanders. Colonel Sanders didn't really care, but he decided to give them a bucket full of dark meat. He really didn't think that giving a bucket of chicken to a bunch of chickens would offend them, but it did. Body parts with 11 secret herbs and spices where lobbed all over the place and the empty bucket was used to catch the falling sky. There were survivors on both sides. You can still hear them late at night sometimes, still crying "the sky is falling, the sky is falling.....".

Got it?

understand why he might not want to do so. It's funny to us but in his position I can see that looking back it might not seem so. It's one thing to have to try to steer DU through a difficult but intellectually understandable time with something like the primaries. The frustration has to be 100 times worse if DUers are trying to verbally rip each other apart over chicken recipies.

The Corn Flaker Contingent vs The Flourers vs The Ritz Crackerers vs The Potato Chippers vs The Corn Mealers vs the Other Weird Stuff to Bread Fried Chicken Withers, ad nauseum, ad infinitum.

This may or may not have devolved into The Great Olive Garden War and the Breast Feeding Skirmishes.
Everyone chose up sides, and there were some mighty fine brawls.

But it sounds delicious to me. Pizza wars, fried chicken wars, taco wars, those are the kind of wars I can really get into I'm a warmonger when it comes to delicious food.

And that yankee shit of corn flakes sounds awful. I love chicken but that sounds terrible to me. Buttermilk and flour is the way to go.

Back in the 60's my 2nd generation Italian Mom made a fried chicken much like classic southern, egg & flour mixed with spices, but the spices were a little different - you could taste the garlic and paprika elements. I never saw anyone refuse seconds. bbq is an art form unto itself. I prefer mine wet as opposed to dry rub.

Let The Great Chicken War be stricken from every book and tablet. Stricken from every pylon and obelisk of DU. Let The Great Chicken War be unheard and unspoken, erased from the memory of man, for all time.

The accounts of fallen D.U.ers still roam the fields among the countlesss chicken bones, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Gennesee cans, waiting for the day when our remembering will make them rise to the sky on wings of tabasco and garlic butter!
