Romney Backer Cathy McMorris Rodgers Praises Support For Pay Equity, Voted Against Ledbetter
The Romney campaign is in damage control mode on its War On Women claim against President Obama after an awkward phone call in which Romneys advisers were unable to answer basic questions about their claims or identify Romneys position on the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Now the campaign is rolling out a list of statements from female supporters, the latest from Cathy McMorris Rodgers praising Romneys comitment to pay equity for women among other things:
One source of awkardness: Romneys spokeswoman said earlier that the candidate would not change the Ledbetter law if elected president. Rodgers voted against it in 2009.

For more than three years, President Obamas disastrous economic policies have wreaked havoc on women in the workplace with record levels of unemployment and the highest poverty rate in nearly two decades. Now the President has doubled down on his record of failure by proposing even more regulations and more taxes that will make it more difficult for women to find jobs. Mitt Romney supports pay equity for women and, as president, will do what President Obama has not implement pro-growth economic policies that will allow women and all Americans to finally get back to work.
One source of awkardness: Romneys spokeswoman said earlier that the candidate would not change the Ledbetter law if elected president. Rodgers voted against it in 2009.

Equitable pay is what is fair. They think women making less than men is completely fair.
