on the reputation of the name St. Louis. Terrible things have happened here before but as a life long Missourian it is a place I intend to avoid. That includes the 3-4 annual Cardinals games I attend annually. I have heard similar comments from others.

I don't live in the city or St. Louis county (I moved out to where there is more space and less people, about a 20 minute drive away).
Hopefully, this will be the thing that starts us all moving to a better place, where people really are equal, as the ideal our country was built on but fails so miserably at times. Even when the country was being built, black people and women did not have equal rights, so things CAN change.
I don't really know how this will happen.
I will still go into the city to Forest Park, where the zoo and science center are. I don't go down town to the ball games because I am still mad they tore down the old Busch stadium! The arch and river front are under reconstruction right now, so maybe that is symbolic of improvements!
Perhaps this city can be where the camels back was finally broken and also where the healing and changes can begin.
