Dozens of TV Networks Lining Up For the Chance to Be Next to Fire Keith Olbermann

"After getting sacked by Current TV last week, which followed his getting axed by MSNBC last year, Keith Olbermann has already received dozens of offers from TV networks around the world, desperate to hire the unemployed commentator so they can immediately fire him.

While unusual, most Industry insiders are praising Olbermann’s strategy of being so smug and irritating that people are willing to pay him millions of dollars just for the privilege of pinkslipping him.

According to Olbermann, who compared himself to “a $10 million chandelier” on “The Late Show With David Letterman” last week, he’s been fielding numerous offers since his departure from Current TV."

Even Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network, the only network more irrelevant than Current TV, is trying to land the elusive Olbermann. Winfrey has a track record for hiring annoying television personalities at OWN, only to quickly give them the boot.

Most recently, Winfrey terminated Rosie O’Donnell’s show, after only five months on the air. “I was bragging to everyone how good it felt to fire Rosie,” Winfrey said. Then Al Gore called me and said ‘If you think that feels good, try shit-canning Olbermann, it’s euphoric.’ ”
