James Garner and Luck

" How does a guy without any acting experience and who hates talking in front of people land a well connected Hollywood agent to jump start his career? Luck?"

Article is really fascinating.

Author breaks "Luck" (whatever that is) down into being observant, relaxed, thankful , trying new things, and by pure chance as an actor in one's life rather than through any actions you may take. Gives an example of how an empty car spot played a pivotal point in Garner's life . He uses the life and times of James Garner to show how these elements came to play in making him a star.

Linking luck with being observant is an interesting thought, especially to one who's had a lucky break or two but never thought of himself as observant before, despite being described so by others.
