Crist promises Day 1 order banning LGBT discrimination in state agencies

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist says he will sign five executive orders on his first day back in office if he’s elected in November.

Crist made the announcement Tuesday.

He also said he would sign orders banning discrimination against gay and transgender employees at agencies under his control and their contractors, and another to require equal pay for women.

He said he would also order agencies under his control to require that contractors pay employees at least $10.10 an hour.

They should accompany these long-overdue changes by stating it's freedom from government influence. Subvert the GOP's mindless mantra and replace it with a meaningful one.

We need to take away the GOP's screeching about government interference. Put them on the defensive.

Seeing it has not been working for them (except the loony toons).

We are coming down to the finish line and Christ is in the lead right now here in Florida. I for one am hoping for the best.
