I distrust all those who are promoting war whether they are with Israel or Hamas.

Under whose government would you rather live if the counterpart were not present?

Would anyone genuinely suggest they would want to be a citizen of an unchecked Hamas government?

But Hamas is not a nation, nor truly representative of Palestinians, and Israel has several political parties. As in our country, there is the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I don't trust Israel, based on past behaviour, to keep any of their obligations under international law, or to work for peace, or to stop building settlements in the West Bank. Neither do I trust Hamas to provide effective leadership for the Palestinian people that helps them move toward a negotiated solution, especially as long as Israel continues to behave as it has in the past.

I do have sympathy for the average Palestinians. If their homes are bulldozed and their olive groves destroyed, I really understand how they'd be pretty mad.

You'd have to fine-tune the question for a more informative answer. Trust them in regards to what?

but whose side we hear about from our biased media (and they are very biased in support of the IDF) and whose stories are not told on that same media - the story of the Palestinian people and their suffering.

this madness must stop. It isn't a question of "who to believe" because the propaganda is thick on both sides. We need to help these 2 groups of people see a peaceful solution because they clearly aren't going to get there on their own.
