(10,558 posts)Thom Hartmann and Mike Papantonio are on Free Speech TV as well. Three different hard hitting shows that provide news and editorials that you will not find on main stream media. As to the OP, I could not agree more, Amy Goodman's Democracy Now is absolutely outstanding! I urge all my fellow DUers to find a way to watch and support the show.
I highly recommend it too!
I also REALLY like Background Briefing with Ian Masters.

Jefferson23
(30,099 posts)frequents his time slot...and a Senator I support but I am not aware Amy is on RT, I hope not.
My speculation, and that is all I have, since no one seems to ask Hartmann why
he uses RT..is that he and other progressives have so limited access to a wider
audience..they'll never get an MSNBC spot, never mind CBS etc. That is not a
good reason if that is their rationale...I don't know if people are aware that RT
America is not seen by Russian's. So they will never hear an American liberal
view point on RT. When Hartmann and others air through RT, they legitimize RT and
this makes all those dissenting from Putin's policies even harder. They have it
tough enough as it is, and why I do not participate.

(21,925 posts)And she was very good last night on Bill Maher's show. She's not always perfect in my opinion but she's the best journalist on TV and she's been at it for decades. She occasionally disappoints me with one-sided rooting in my opinion like during the Serbian-Bosnian conflict where it seems only Serbian rapes and murders mattered but atrocities committed by the Bosnians were never mentioned. You occasionally see that from liberal journalists where the side liberals are supposed to like gets more sympathy and more coverage of their issues whereas I would hope for more even-handedness (corporate media is far far worse but roots for the side conservatives are apt to support). Overall though I agree 100% that people should listen to Amy Goodman's show. She's a great interviewer and gets details from her guests that are not explored by the idiots on corporate media. She's wonderful.
