Zimmerman's Family: "Call off the Dogs" - Sets Up Fund for George's Living/Defense ExpensesLast edited Fri Apr 6, 2012, 05:48 PM USA/ET - Edit history (8)
The letter - supposedly sent to the NAACP - cannot be confirmed as coming from the Zimmermans, however, is being covered on major news outlets and on the internet. The family is also setting up a website for help with "attorney and living expenses" and claim George is suffering from PTSD and depression.
http://www.thegrio.com/specials/trayvon-martin/zimmermans-family-to-launch-new-web-site-to-raise-funds-for-legal-defense-living-expenses.php George Zimmerman's family has announced plans to launch a website today that will help raise money to fund his legal defense and cover the family's living expenses. NBC News has confirmed the launch of the Internet destination with the law office of Hal Uhrig, the latest attorney hired by Zimmerman to manage his case.
theGrio: George Zimmerman's new attorney, Hal Uhrig: 'We're defending a reputation' Uhrig and Zimmerman's first lawyer, Craig Sonner, have released a statement explaining the intention of the site. "George Zimmerman's family has setup a website for anyone who would like help with George and his family with their living expenses and for his defense," the statement reads. "Please go to the website at www.zimmermandefense.com." Martin Bashir's Segment: http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/source-zimmerman-family-sends-angry-letter-to-naacp/6fdlegn Excerpt:
If something happens to George as a result of the race furor stirred up by this mischaracterization of George there will be blood on your hands as well as the rest of the racists that have rushed to judgment. You need to call off the dogs. Period. Publicly and swiftly. Entire Letter can be found here: http://www.craigboyce.com/w/2012/04/zimmerman-letter-to-naacp/ Just over a week after she attended a rally calling for the arrest of the man who shot Trayvon Martin to death, Tonnetta Foster says she checked her mail at the corner box as she does every couple of days, and found this letter.
The letter, dated March 28th, and sent without a return address, was addressed to her home. The writer addressed her by her first name. "Tonetta," it read, "I am forwarding you a copy of a letter that has been sent to the NAACP. I thought that, since you were at the rally on March 19 against Mr. Zimmerman, you might be interested to know the type of man he is. The four page attachment is a copy of the flyer that George distributed to the local churches in support of your brother." The letter to Foster is signed "The Zimmerman family."

There's already been blood you self absorbed fools. My gawd, what a thing to say. I think they should fundraise and hire someone to give them a long ride on the clue bus.

4. whoa. Your title is grossly inaccurate and is NOT a direct quote.
|
Last edited Fri Apr 6, 2012, 05:14 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) and it misrepresents what the letter says.
That doesn't mean that I agree with everything in the letter. But that title is a gross misrepresentation. Actual quote: "If something happens to George as a result of the race furor stirred up by this mischaracterization off George there will be blood on your hands as well as the rest of the racists that have rushed to judgement. You need to call off the dogs...." Now I have no idea what, if any, the NAACP has had to do with anything in this case. |

9. It was signed "the Zimmerman family". None of them have claimed it, yet they
|
haven't denied it either. One of the posters here had the letter a few days ago and we were discussing whether to post it or not. I guess since it's all over the place, including Freeperville, and is being reported.. it's fair game.

7. Nah. I think one of the Neo-nazi's patrolling Sanford did this.
|
I don't think the family did this. Their in enough hot water. This is a Neo-nazi wanting to instigate a race war.

10. PTSD?
|
Gee, wonder what kind of PTSD Trayvon's suffering from? Oh wait--he's DEAD.
I imagine the PTSD that Trayvon's family is enduring is pretty mind numbing. And as for that letter, I wipe my ass with that letter--either sign your name, "A Concerned Zimmerman Family Member" or STFU. Who thought this was a good idea? The lying father, hiding behind a screen? The lying brother, appearing on Piers Morgan? Georgie himself? It's a wallow in self-pity. No sale. Maybe if everytime he picked up the phone to complain about a shady character, said shady character wasn't a black person, he'd have some credence. But when he's reporting on suspicious looking seven to nine year olds who are black, he's lost the argument. |

12. Whenever any of the Zimmerman family or their attorneys appear it is obvious to me that they
|
really do not live in the real world. They are in that rw world of isolation that expects white priviledge as their due. And it may have worked where they have lived in the past but Sanford, Florida walked out into the real world the day Zimmerman shot a young boy for walking home.

15. What's even creepier is that someone had been watching this girl who got the
|
letter and knew she had attended a Trayvon Ralley, and also knew everything about George's involvement with her brother's case. It had to be someone close, if not family.

News to me. And, last time I looked, there were plenty of outraged white people at these demonstrations as well.

19. Another chapter in the insanity plea rewrite......
|
So we have Shaken Baby Syndrome, Child Abuse (thought his father was a saintly judge), and now PTSD!
OH poor poor George! He could barley gather the strength to get out of the car (against 911s better judgment) and strike down that bad bad child. George Zimmerman; the much vilenised suburban hero. Stand You're Ground to protect us all. If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. Just change the lie to suit you;re needs. |

24. So, why don't they either indict and try Zimmerman and give him a chance
|
to exonerate himself or produce the evidence upon which they base a decision that he should not be called to answer for the killing of Trayvon Martin.
If someone would just come out and announce that an investigation is still underway and that charges will be brought if deemed appropriate, that would quiet things a bit. In any event, has George Zimmerman personally apologized for the shooting? He does not deny having shot Trayvon as I understand it. He is simply claiming self-defense. Did I miss the report stating that Zimmerman apologized to the family? |
