Before any elected Democrat supported marriage equality, Dick Cheney did. And yet I did not rush to praise Cheney as a role model because he is also a war mongering piece of shit.
Are you openly anti gay like Francis? Are you also opposed to birth control, like your hero? How much of the 'a lot' he is saying do you actually agree with? Would you promote a racist in such a manner? If not, why are you doing this?

You know what that was, correct?

It was one of the major political fights that Harvey Milk was involved with.

I was becoming a teacher, and went around the state making sure the Briggs Initiative (1978 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Briggs_Initiative) did not get very far.

And I was tutored by many a gay person.

So maybe this is just an age thing.

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

He was ”tortured by many a gay person" so it's OK to tell one they make their "cause look silly"??

That's terrible.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Jun 13, 2014, 09:26 PM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Geez. Is this really over a typo? If anything in this thread is "terrible," this is it.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: WillylT says he was tutored by many a gay person. You thought he said "tortured".
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The alerter needs to learn how to read. The word WillyT used was TUTORED, as in taught. Idiotic alert made by someone who can't fucking read!
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Huh?
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given

Your snarkish reply just makes it worse. That headline is yours. About a hate monger who is opposed to choice. A leader of the Ugandan anti gay crusades. You find that to be fodder for 'humor', strained and stilted humor. The jokes a person sees fit to tell often say more about them than all the rhetoric they craft about their revolutionary selves.
So you calm down, spend a bit of time to consider the crap you keep posting here. You don't mind homophobes and choice is of no concern to you, I get that. But consider the room you are playing. It's not an all white, straight Catholic crowd like you might be used to.

Note: The article below is being included here because Ludovine Rochere, along with Archbishop Cordileone, Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee, will be among the guest speakers at the NOM "March for Marriage" in Washington. Rochere is also an anti-choice activist and opposes in-vitro fertilization, artificial insemination and surrogacy.

VATICAN CITY: Pope Francis Holds Private Mass With President Of Viciously Anti-Gay Manif Pour Tous

Pope Francis today held a private mass with Ludovine Rochere, the president of France's viciously anti-gay Manif Pour Tous, which held many massive and often violent rallies during the battle for same-sex marriage. From the right wing newspaper Le Figaro (via Google Translate):

The Pope "listened very carefully," according to the president of Manif Pour Tous, Ludovine Rochere, in a statement she made on Thursday morning in Sainte Marthe in Rome, where she was invited to participate in a private Mass with the Pope. "I was placed in the middle of the meeting," said Rochère, "but someone picked me before the start of the Mass, wondering if I was the president of the Manif Pour Tous, to put me at the forefront of the faithful along the aisle, just behind the priests."

This protocol detail is not unimportant. Especially during this Mass, where only thirty people are allowed. It clearly means that the Pope wanted to honor this non-denominational movement since he did invite its principle representative.

After Mass, Pope Francis gave an interview to Rochère, who told him that she was there "on behalf of hundreds of thousands of French who mobilized against the law for gay marriage." She also told him that they were currently advocating on the issue of medically assisted procreation (MAP) and surrogacy. Although the language barrier did not favor the exchange that lasted about five minutes (the Pope understands but does not speak French), he promised that he "would consider" the best way to send a message to the French....

Really, I suspect if you look hard enough you can find some position that Sen. Warren and (pick a person) agree upon. I don't think it helps Warren's cause to link her, even jokingly, with others that have very different agendas for the most part.

Frankly I am becoming convinced that Pope Francis is all hat, no cattle. He talks a lot, but does next to nothing to rein in the real pain that his minions are causing in the world.
