Saddam might not have been a nice person - but he ruled Iraq with an iron fist and if he still were in control today - this would not be happening.

All for oil..... this is sad.

I just hope that the President doesn't take the bait.

This isn't another nation invading Iraq, it's pretty much a civil war.

You need to read up on the agreement.

destabilize the government, destroy the necessary infrastructure like roads, water, hospitals, power, and then leave. Count to 10 and act surprised when a bunch of guys, using OUR discarded weapons, start fights for power.
Iraq, Afghanistan, even part of Pakistan.....the beat goes on.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., calls on President Obama to fire national security team, Joint Chiefs chairman and bring back David Petraeus and Ryan Crocker to save Iraq.

Brealing News reports.

Man, I bet poor Gramps misses Petraeus. they had such like minds.
The ONLY thing McCain has been consistent about is war.

There is no way the US and allies will let Baghdad fall or oil fields taken. For sure the President doesnt want to do it but he may have no choice.

. . . what they don't have is a government prepared to do what it takes to accommodate their Sunni minority. Half of their army is Sunni and they've refused to fight the Sunni ISIS rebels.

Maliki's govt is an Iranian proxy, so he's siding with Iran.
