Gun Activists Cut Up NRA Member Cards Over Criticism Of AR-15s In Restaurants

ERIC LACH – JUNE 2, 2014, 1:40 PM EDT

Gun lovers in Texas are furious at the National Rifle Association right now.

In response to the NRA's statement on Friday criticizing Texas activists' recent tactics, members of the pro-gun group Open Carry Texas have been cutting up their NRA membership cards, and the group has issued a statement demanding a retraction of the NRA's "disgusting and disrespectful comments." Or else.

"The more the NRA continues to divide its members by attacking some aspects of gun rights instead of supporting all gun rights, the more support it will lose," Open Carry Texas said in a statement published Monday on its Facebook page.

In its statement last week, the NRA said that activists in Texas had recently "crossed the line from enthusiasm to downright foolishness" with their attempts to bring semi-automatic rifles into fast food restaurants. Open Carry Texas -- the most prominent group involved in the Texas demonstrations -- responded Monday by saying it was "unfortunate that an organization that claims to be dedicated to the preservation of gun rights would attack another organization fighting so hard for those rights in Texas."

How tone deaf do you have to be? Mass shootings every other day and these insensitive asshole want to go to a public restaurant with assault weapons! To have the NRA call you out for going to far ought to tell you something! I hope they come to where I am eating, I will be stupid and fed up enough to tell them how stupid, callus, and insensitive they are. Sandy Hook should have been more than enough to show even the most heartless gun nut that open carry is an idea whose time has passed by!

Larry Pratt And Alex Jones Blame Mass Shootings On 'Inherently Violent' Liberals

By Miranda Blue - 11/20/2013

One of Gun Owners of America director Larry Pratt’s stock lines is about how the one exception to his anti-gun-law absolutism is that he supports banning “angry liberals” from owning firearms.

The topic came up again yesterday when Pratt joined conspiracy theorist Alex Jones to discuss their joint effort to “take over the Republicans” with Tea Party leaders such as Ted Cruz and Ken Cuccinelli.

Jones went off on a tangent on gun violence, claiming that “almost all” mass shooters come from “liberal Democrat families” and are “all into weird occult stuff and on a bunch of drugs and are Satan worshippers and video-game heads.”

“And I’m getting blamed for what people with green hair that worship the Devil are doing?” he asked.

Pratt agreed, saying that “angry liberals should probably be the exception to our purist Second Amendment views” because liberals “are inherently violent.”

I guess I'm a bad person, but I confess I wish the gun nuts would turn their guns on each other, as they nearly did at the Bundy ranch.

Of course, the only lesson they would draw would be that they Need More Gunz.

Some of my friends have a lot of wingnut gun-humpers FB friends, so I've been calling them out on their hypocrisy by saying "I'm for the right to carry EVERYWHERE with NO LIMITS. And that means open carry by civilians of assault weapons on planes, on the floor and galleries of Congress, on the floors and galleries of all 50 statehouses, at Presidential debates, in the ERs of inner-city hospitals, at every courthouse (no more metal detectors!), in prison visiting rooms, on White House tours, in Senate Offices - EVERYWHERE. Period. NO limits are acceptable. You should be able to walk into your Senators office brandishing an AK-47 and no one should be able to say "boo" to you. NO 2nd amendment limits EVER.

Because the minute you suggest that people shouldn't be able to bring a gun somewhere, you're saying that the potential target's safety is more important than the safety of schoolchildren or the average person on the street.

Let's see how that works out.
