So, which is it?

Either America is under control of a select number of regressive oligarchs, who control our all of lives and there's very little that we CAN do about it. Or else, most of the rest of the country, who could vote them out of power and replace them with leaders who WOULD work for the benefit of all, they consciously defer to the oligarchs instead.

Is this vast majority too uninformed, too frightened or too uninterested to understand what's at stake? Would they care if they understood, or is being "right" the most important thing, even if the things in which they believe are not true at all?

Perhaps it's a conscious choice to defer to the inequality, the failure of democracy, the violence and utterly willful ignorance and to consider them as kinds of twisted virtues? What benefit does it give to everyone in a nation with hegemonic power, both internally and externally, when only that very few at the top reap any kind of reward?

That would mean that we're now a nation of the many, by the many, but for only the few, would it not?

When you destroy the lives of others, who are not exactly like yourselves, who does that help, yourselves or your masters who are keeping you under a yoke?
