Author/Educator/Activist/Media personality Dr. Cornell West speaks to All Saints Church in Pasadena on December 18th and shares his passion and wit on subjects such as economic and social justice, inspiring artists, educators, and activists throughout history and his life, and the ecumenical importance of the Occupy Movement. He also endorses Occupy the Rose Parade and gives us some great advice.

Here is a dynamic quote that I have to share with you all.

"Let's talk about principles, let's talk about ideals, let's talk about poetic vision, religious visions using imagination, yes we are rooted, but at the same time we have transcending powers to choose to decide to be committed to something bigger than egos, our groups, and our national communities."

• Discussion of the Occupy Movement- At approximately the 7 minute mark.

• Endorsing Occupy the Rose Parade- at approximately the 9 minute 30 second mark.

Protesters who plan a post-parade march down Colorado Boulevard have promised not to disrupt the main Rose Parade event, while police have agreed to treat demonstrators fairly as long as they keep their word, according to the Pasadena Sun.

"We want to make sure this is completely nondisruptive to the main parade," said Occupy the Rose Parade organizer Peter Thottam.

"We're going to work with (Occupy the Rose Parade) to ensure that the parade goes smoothly and they have the opportunity to have their voice," said Pasadena Police Department spokeswoman Lt. Phlunte Riddle.
