Tennessee state senator compares signing up for Obamacare to Nazi ‘train rides for Jews’

Tennessee state Senator Stacey Campfield is coming under bipartisan fire for his “Thought of the Day” post on his blog.

“Democrats bragging about the number of mandatory sign ups for Obamacare is like Germans bragging about the number of manditory [sic] sign ups for ‘train rides’ for Jews in the 40s,” he wrote today.

Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Roy Herron responded in a statement that “Senator Campfield’s blog post this morning is just the latest example of Tea Party Republican extremism. To compare attempts to save American lives through access to healthcare with Nazis killing European Jews is outrageous, pathetic, and hateful.”

“Sen. Campfield and other Tea Party Republicans,” he continued, “ought to look at the 5,000 Tennesseans who will die within the next 3 years because Tea Party Republicans refused to take the 100% federal funding to expand Medicaid and have denied working Tennesseans access to healthcare.”

I know a "trust fund baby", that is 50 years old. ALL he ever talks about is "his" money and all the places he travels, etc.. (me, me, me).
Yesterday he was talking about how race relations were getting stirred up and gaining traction. He took great joy in this.
I told him (truthfully) that it is just another ploy by TPTB to keep average Americans divided so we didn't unite and revolt about the fascist state of America. I followed up by saying "you know exactly what I mean, don't you?".
Well, he said "yeah", his demeanor changed and I am not sure if that invite to "the keys" is still valid...
He left shortly afterward, He has the propensity to be a nice guy, but his upbringing keeps getting in the way.
"Everybody always wants to borrow money, I will never marry just hire companionship when I need it" etc..
He has been in the process of buying up greyhound terminals for the last few years and having his employees clean them up and operate them. I guess that he gets a lot of governmental subsidies to help him get wealthier with this scheme.
I have heard him speak to his employees (and fire one) on the phone.
He once told me that he got in to this business because of his credit worthiness. Some guy (who now works for him) wanted to do this (supposedly quite lucrative with the govt. incentives) but he didn't have the needed credit. So he approached "trust fund guy" with the idea. He liked it so much that he invested and hired this fellow to turn these failing terminals around.
There may be a few wealthy people who actually create jobs (very few employees) but I sure wouldn't want to work for them.
He is very vindictive and enjoys firing those he perceives as having slighted him at some time.
Unless WE UNITE SOON this oligarchy may be too entrenched to depose. The enemy of our enemy can be our (closely watched) friend.
If even 20 million of the over 300 million repressed Americans, took to the streets, TPTB would be overwhelmed and scared.
Our demands would be taken very seriously. Obviously there has been something introduced (propaganda, subliminal messages,
whatever) into our lives that keeps us docile to TPTB, maybe it is the poor quality of our education, IDK. I do know that unless we overcome this inability to take control of our lives, very soon, it will be uglier than it is now.
What started this exchange: while paying for his (draft) beer, he asked the bartender if "they take Obama money here," I said that they did take Romney money...

President Obama, IMO has made being a Democrat (few real ones left, none in the executive branch) a "so what" proposition. That will really hurt us in all elections. During the terms that we expected positive "change," we have witnessed none. No big banksters, traitorous politicians (especially W. & Cheney), or anyone responsible for the economic and democracy killing escapades of the "w" era has been jailed or even made an example of. Instead we have had an increase of Democracy destroying policies, bush appointees still wielding power, secrecy increased, whistle-blowers becoming public enemy #1, austerity increases, the temporary wealthy tax cuts extended,a decrease in representation for the masses, NSA spying on all Americans increased, net neutrality sold-off...so much more.
Yet, instead of "the buck stops here" (willingness to fight for the people) we hear the blame game. Does your employer want excuses or results? Yes, we have idiotic grifters (r & d) in congress but intelligent, dedicated people find a way to work around the B.S. and get things done. The oligarchy is more obvious than ever despite their MSM ownership.
Hey, "we" got the ACA (single payer off the table), allowing Southern States to opt out of Medicaid expansion has made the ACA a penalty on poor Southerners.
We desperately need a Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren (or both) as President to even begin to clean up this mess. Where I sit, democrats are seen as a subset of the corporate oligarchy.

Obviously, "Obamacare" sign-ups is nothing like sending Jews to their deaths. The analogy being wrong is as offensive as the person making the argument, as if he and his ilk would have even give a shit about Jews being herded onto trains. Just about any time this analogy is cranked out, it is usually followed by "so and so are the new Jews". No, the Jews are still the Jews, stop using us in your faulty, logic lacking, racist, and brain dead analogies!

Just read all the shit he's pulled.

In 2013, Campfield introduced Senate Bill 0132[38] which cuts by 30% the payment made to parents or caretakers of children in families eligible for Tennessee's Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program if any of the children fail to meet requirements for grades or attendance.[39]

In April 2013, the Senator withdrew his support for this Bill after an organized protest of clergy and community members at the State Capitol. Eight year old girl Aamira Fetuga followed him around Capitol Hill with a signed petition opposing the Bill asking him questions and sharing her concerns. The bill was withdrawn shortly thereafter.[40]

have gladly switched places with Americans who are now signing up for the ACA. The ACA has issues and is far from perfect but it is certainly not a train ride to a concentration camp or gas chamber.

I think that 5,000 number is very low.
Preventative care (especially dental care) and even emergency care is out-of- range for most residents.
It is either eat or suffer (maybe die) for most here.
Obviously, TPTB want to keep it that way.
IMO, the very least that Americans can do is get an American flag and fly it upside down. That signifies an emergency and we are there.

Obviously the worst part of his statement is the idiotic comparison to Nazi death camps, but it's also stupid in another way. The Affordable Care Act is not something that you can sign up for. It's a set of laws that makes it possible for anyone to obtain health care from a private insurance company.

I think Republicans do actually know that, but they talk about "signing up for Obamacare" anyway, because that plays into their effort to portray it as the government dictating your health care.
