2. I would expect a recoil injury to be far less noticeable...

But perhaps he tried to blame it on the fight.

4. The Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm is somewhat 'snappy' in its recoil

but I find it hard to believe that anyone familiar with shooting this gun wouldn't be prepared to the extent that it hit him in the nose.

14. Total BS. *Any* gun can recoil and hit someone in the nose.

Even a measly 22. It made a hell of a bruise on my shoulder the first time; despite the fact that my father (a strict, ex-military guy) had showed me how to fire it properly.

Guns recoil, and can do so violently. Especially among the inexperienced. Oh, and lest we forget, we are talking about a 9mm here. Held improperly, yes, it could certainly "hit ya in the nose".

5. I think they said it was a 9mm

So no, the recoil from a 9mm is pretty mild. Besides, the video shows no injury to his nose

6. It's a Kel-Tec P11 9mm. I have one myself.

I would describe the recoil as "sharp"; it's quite a bit lighter than most 9mm handguns.

I think it very unlikely that the gun punched Zimmerman in the nose. I suppose it's possible, but it's quite a reach. It doesn't kick that much.

I said "mild" recoil, but the again, I spent a lot of time back in the 90s loading and shooting some pretty hot loads from a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 mag... the muzzle blast alone would really wake ya up

even one handed you are not going to hit yourself in the face from firing one...

I have several different pocket 9mm & 380's the recoil is not that much...

Even the rare break that doesn't produce a gusher produces some blood and that blood drips.

12. Not if fired from a "normal" position

He's about a big as I am in terms of height and weight, so no way that would hit him in face if the firing position was anything close to normal.

However, a fistfight can make you shoot from a weird position. If he was trying to hold the gun away from Martin and still aim it at him, he might be able to give himself a little ding.

He's probably deafen himself, though.

13. If Trayvon was shot at close range, autopsy should show it

IF it was a thorough autopsy. Was it a contact wound? Was it from a distance? We can only hope that the autopsy was competently done, because if the range was more than 5 feet, then it's another nail in Zimmerman's case.

15. Highly unlikely, unless maybe if the back was right against his face when he pulled the trigger.

If you don't hold it right the slide might cut your thumb/hand but that's about it.
