(10,622 posts)What exactly makes you feel a lecture was needed in this case? Are their no campuses near you where young people are? They tend to be the ones that need to be reminded to vote. You are lurking in the wrong place little one.

(1,805 posts)I think we ought to concentrate on this year's elections. It seems too soon to begin speculating about who will be president. I truly admire Warren, however I think we should concentrate on getting out the vote this year. First things first.
Now that Chelsea is pregnant, it's hard to predict what Hillary will do. Personally, I hope she doesn't run...time will tell. PBO was unknown until 2004, so who knows will emerge as a potential candidate?

(21,115 posts)I have ever heard levied against her! NO ONE ever says that if a man is trying to get elected....now do they?
Yes it is STILL sexist even if a Liberal says it.

(1,805 posts)I'm a grandmother also (first one born when I was 35) and there are few things more rewarding than grandchildren. Please accept my apology, I certainly didn't mean to come off as sexist. Guess I had my "mimi" hat on. Take good care, Jennifer

(21,115 posts)Why would we even think that Hillary becoming a Grandmother is a problem? Did we ever think becoming a Grandfather was a "problem". When has ANYONE ever said "well I don't know what Former Senator Joe Blow is going to do now that he is going to become a Grandfather".....I can tell you when....NEVER!
THAT is why its sexist....

(1,805 posts)My "real" name is Jennifer - Mimi is what my grandkids call me. I just know from experience that usually grandmothers get more involved with their grandkids than the grandfathers do. I never said it would be "a problem." I just thought that perhaps Hillary was tired from all the hard and decent work she's done and might want some time to unwind. Forget it, I was going to try and explain, but I see it's fallen on deaf ears.
Seriously, I'm without a doubt one of the least sexist people you'd ever meet. Oh well. Can't get into discussions with a closed mind. I'm extremely sorry that I wasn't PC enough for you. I'm through with this convo for good.
VanillaRhapsody
(21,115 posts)No you are definitely NOT the least sexist person I have ever met...by far....but.that is also mighty presumptuous for you to say so...
Yeah you need to be through with this "convo".....I would run and hide had I made these statements and tried to claim I wasn't sexist if I were you too...

(10,622 posts)any discussion other than lecturing already reliable voters appears to make them lose the "concentration" they require to remember to vote during an election.
I imagine some have a very hard time concentrating hard enough to remember where to vote and on what day, If we do not constantly remind them they lose "concentration" and forget, poor souls, thinking must be hard for them. Perhaps they should log out and stay in a room with many signs and calendars so that posters like you don't make them forget.
They appear so very easily distracted perhaps I should write an OP reminding them to eat at supper time.

(268,693 posts)2014 is first. My comment is in response to her new book. I can walk and chew gum, but I do get their point.
