To afford our individual tax havens.
"U.S. taxpayers would need to pay an average of $1,259 more a year to make up the federal and state taxes lost to corporations and individuals sheltering money in overseas tax havens"
Here's something to throw in the teeth of any right winger that says his taxes are just too damn high. Close those havens and start building roads and repairing bridges.

(39,215 posts)1. My friend I would be happy to be able to just live comfortably. A warm home, plenty of food,
medical care, and clothing for me and my family. Maybe that is why I am not rich - it is the last thing I want to be.

and doesn't apply only to right wingers. How about rich families that set up "trusts"
and "foundations" and pay literally NO taxes no matter WHICH side of the aisle they are on?

Damn anyone who benefits from the taxes we all pay and does not pay their fair share, be they Rep or Dems or corporations.
