Well done . . .

Mr. President

President Barack Obama waves to the press as he returns to the White House in Washington DC, after returning from trip to Seoul, South Korea, March 27, 2012. Obama visited the DMZ, met U.S. troops serving on the Korean Peninsula and attended the Nuclear Security Summit where he had numerous bilateral meetings with world leaders. REUTERS/Mike Theiler

I heard yesterday that orgasms are effective in ameliorating jet lag symptoms. I'm a big believer in preventative medicine, too. Gotta go. I've got a flight in June.

. . . to appreciate his efforts.

That's not saying that there can't be criticism and disagreements over his efforts on this trip. Kinda ridiculous to argue that there was nothing to compliment about his diplomacy and negotiation.

you seem to actually know what his trip was about and have made the judgement that his 'gaffe' overshadowed all else.

In this esoteric post, I'm making a compliment directed at the President, much like I would if I had actually been standing there. As a citizen and a Democrat, I was impressed by our American leader's style and apparent ease and grace in communicating with the foreign leaders and our allies. Not actually knowing the substance of their discussions, I do have complete access to the script and initiative of his foreign policy which is manifested in the actions of his State Dept. under the leadership of Sec. Clinton. All of the initiatives and actions toward the principles involved in discussions and negotiations are outlined on the State Dept. website and in the speeches and statements from the President and Mrs. Clinton. I don't see any more need to go into all of that to just say, 'well done' here at DU. any more than I would shouting out to the President on an early morning as he returned from overseas. That's the type of supporter I am.

The lamest thing is that a glimpse of reality is called a "gaffe".

a huge top story. Securing loose nukes, reducing stockpiles, and - for the first time- accounting for tactical nukes is an extremely important role for our leaders. Not that media pays much attention... till there is a little mic malfunction.

Thank you, President Obama for keeping your promise to reducing nukes worldwide.

And thanks, big tree, for the thread.
