the whole bill is struck down. Individual clauses are non severable?

I don't know if that will stand, but that is what i have heard.

In fairness if they strike down the mandate the bill may well be unworkable.

The Supreme Court is going to hear from both sides about what would happen if the mandate is struck down.

Needless to say, though, most of these reforms require the mandate to work. The law would be badly damaged if the mandate is ruled unconstitutional.
