furious about Cheneys heart

As of August 31st, 2011, there are 121,264 patients on wait lists at U.S. Transplant Centers. Of those 121,264 patients, 3,202 persons are awaiting heart transplants while an additional 69 patients are awaiting a heart/lung transplant.
Numbers from:
http://www.myhearttransplant.net/wait-list/new-wait-list-statistics.html

In Virginia, where the filthy buzzard got his heart transplant today, there were 370 people on the waiting list for a heart. In the US, there were 3202 on the list waiting for heart today.
Fathers, mothers, children, real people, actual humans who are not a sadistic murderering asshole like Cheney. I do not believe that he would have had medical priority. This stinks to hell.
Yet this 71 year old stinking road kill half dead walking corpse of a "man" bumps them all and buys his way to the top of the list. This miserable war criminal is the one that gets the beeper to go off, while the others will wait and many will die.
I am so furious I could SPIT. I pity the staff that has to care for the pig.

In order to get his heart implant, Cheney probably got not just on one, but a dozen transplant lists across the country. That's how the one percenters cut in line when they need fresh organs.

used a thing called multiple listing where you go to many states and are on their transplant lists to up the likelihood of getting an organ. It only works if the patient can get there in time, which is what happens with private jet types.

At the time his condition got worse. Not that I wish this on you, but if you had the same condition and were at end stage, guess what? You'd be put in the priority list.

Some folks even "jump" further ahead by being so sick, they are in the Emergency list.

This is one of the few blind systems, by design by the way.

People should really get informed, on the off chance they might chose to sign a donor card, or worst, qualify for the system.

The only advantage, which is ironic actually, that dick has, is that he a poster child for single payor.

I don't know about you, but I really do not want medical decisions made on political party, or religious believes, or skin color.

but I believe it is against the law for a vital organ. Plus if it was on the private market, we would have never heard about it.

When I was first onsidered to be a candidate for a lung transplant, I was told I would not be able to get a new set of lungs after I hit 60. About three years ago, they told me that age is no longer a factor and that they are now transplanting people up to 75 - 80.

There are a lot more people donating now and they also have developed drugs that will allow for a little fudging in the match up so it isn't as hard to find a match.

my Mom is 67 years old, and she needs a lung transplant. It was an option at one point. Problem now, is that her disease is so far progressed she can't meet the requirements. Back in December she was given 2-6 months. She is finally home, and we're taking care of her and making her as comfortable as possible until the inevitable happens.

If Cheney did indeed "buy his way to the top of the list", these folks have committed multiple felonies; fraud, conspiracy, money laundering, tax evasion, etc. And if this turns out to be true it will strike a huge blow against the program as many people will tear up their donor cards in disgust.

Please forward whatever evidence you have to the authorities ASAP.

Average heart transplant cost in 2007 was $658,800. source

In Virginia, Medicare will cover a heart transplant. source

The Affordable Care Act prohibits health plans from putting a lifetime dollar limit on most benefits you receive. The law also restricts and phases out the annual dollar limits a health plan can place on most of your benefits — and does away with these limits entirely in 2014. source

As a retired government retiree, Cheney is eligible to continue the same medical program he had as Vice President. source

I don't know whether the taxpayers paid for Cheney's new heart, but wouldn't it be ironic if a Republican relied on the government for the procedure?

Damn that government healthcare!

Technology has advanced to where they have perfected the artificial heart. Dick Cheney has access to this technology along with regenerative drugs and therapy designed to rejuvenate his body. He will die soon, "due to complications."

But in fact, he will have gone underground, and he will stay there for fifty years while he manages his interests via proxies. He will return when we have forgotten. His histories will have been scrubbed. He will arise again to wreak havoc upon our children's children.

He knew there were not enough organs available for everyone on the waiting list and thought it would make more sense if someone who had more years to live was the recipient. It shocked some people that he would do that.

I think Cheney should have been offered a heart-lung machine in The Hague as his only option. If he doesn't go to trial, this gift was not just wasted, but misspent.
