Invasive ultrasounds are rape… And how do I know this?

Well, this is what a rapist actually sounds like:

So, how is that any different from this?

4. He reminded me of the scene where Edith Bunker was raped.

After she begged the rapist not to, he said to her:

"This is gonna happen."

Inevitability, don't resist, the way it is...

The repukes are profoundly changing America and the world for the worse with their attack on the human conscience.

Rush called waterboarding and what was done to the POW in Abu Graib just a fraternity prank.

The GOP got away with torture as American policy. No wonder this is happening...

2. I had one for a medical need. It was something I never want to do again. They were very kind but it

Was SO invasive. So very ... It was awful. I went to the bathroom after and vomitted.

But perhaps I am oversensitive having been raped......

10. No, you're not oversensitive

I had one for a medical need as well, and it was awful. I have to have another one in a couple weeks (for a different issue), and I am DREADING it.

15. I don't think you are over sensitive ...

.... but I do believe we all experience things differently.

I had to have several of these (medically necessary) ... while I certainly did not care for the experience I didn't find it horrific ... but, again I had larger things to worry about (such as my health and ultimate well being)

18. Never have one

I have never had, nor will ever have any form of invasive procedure. They do more harm than good in most cases and are totally unneccessary and unwarrented the rest of the time. It is my body and I say what happens to it and I will take my chances.

6. They feel like rape.

I had one a couple of years ago to look at fibroids. It felt like rape and it hurt.
After it was over and I was walking out, I hung onto my husband's arm because I felt weak from being violated. I had to cry because it felt like rape, mentally and physically.

7. Colonoscopies aren't fun.

It's highly invasive and VERY unpleasant.

Was I supposed to feel raped when I had one?

9. Maybe.

It's normal to feel a bit traumatized for any invasive procedure. I had a stomach scope and none of their stupid sedation worked with me. I remembered and felt everything. It was awful. I was upset about it for awhile.

But I've had many transvaginal and abdominal ultrasounds and found the abdominal ones exponentially worse because of the 'full bladder' requirement which is pretty painful for me after 3 c-sections. Transvaginal ones didn't bother me. But you know what? I'm not going to belittle someone who felt raped after one. When you have ACTUALLY been raped, there can be different triggers for everyone (I just happen to have different triggers). Not cool to invalidate someone else's feelings about it.

12. Agree, but no law forced me to submit to a colonoscopy

Plus, I think the colonoscopy was easier than the preparation.

anyway, no, I don't think colonoscopies are the same as rape. "Consent" is the key.

14. Was it done without your consent

and for no valid medical reason?

If yes, then you'd certainly be justified for feeling raped.

16. The obvious difference is ...

... medical need identified by a physician.

How would you feel experiencing a colonoscopy, essentially ordered by the government, when there was no valid medical purpose ... pretty violated...?

19. I'd suggest self deleting this post as it seems meant to antagonize and you clarified

below "Any medical procedure forced on anyone who doesn't want it or need it, is a violation. "

Thank you for your consideration.
