Stand-your-ground Laws



NY TIMES EDITORIAL: “Stand Your Ground laws are abominations that should be repealed. One obvious flaw among many is that slain victims can never tell their side of the story — an undisputed fact in the tragic slaying of Trayvon Martin.”

1. So what happens when two criminals shoot it out in the streets...

...why can't the person who shoots last claim self-defense?

And what if an innocent bystander is killed? Is that just tough cookies?

After all it was just self defense.

I guess the term "dead men tell no tales" has a new meaning in Florida...

2. Because the law doesn't cover being a criminal, doing criminal things..

The media has over-simplified this law to the point of silliness.
