never thought I would say this but, here's to Wolf Blitzer

Wolf Blitzer: Ted Nugent used Nazi terminology, 'subhuman mongrel,' to describe President Barack Obama

CNN host Wolf Blitzer discusses Ted Nugent's comments about President Barack Obama.Ted Nugent may have made his name as a rock musician, but today he increasingly is known for his controversial comments about President Barack Obama. At a January gun expo in Las Vegas, Nugent described Obama as "a communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured, subhuman mongrel."Nugent now is campaigning with Texas Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott. This led CNNís Wolf Blitzer to question whether the Abbott campaign understands the history of such language. (Abbott has not distanced himself from Nugent.)"Thatís what the Nazis called Jews to justify the genocide of the Jewish community," Blitzer said in a Feb. 18, 2014, interview. "They called themuntermenschen, subhuman mongrels. If you read some of the literature that the Nazis put out there, there is a long history of that specific phrase he used involving the president of the United States."

1. It tells you something when a slam on Obama goes too far for even Blitzer

Blitzer very clearly hates Obama like poison. For him to get upset about it means it must be so far beyond the pale and linked to such general cultural catastrophe that even some bona fide haters would want to distance themselves from it.

It's quite shocking that the Texas candidate for governor hasn't issued a full-scale apology for aligning himself with an obvious white supremacist like Ted Nugent. The guy is verging on racist skinhead, that mop notwithstanding.

2. Maybe Wolf reacted so strongly

because he is Jewish and tended to take Nugent's more personally. Otherwise, he is just like Nugent in many ways. The only difference is he just doesn't use as coarse a language as that smacked-ass does.

7. absolutely

how many people made the point that Nugent used Nazi rhetoric? Exactly one person: Wolf Blitzer. His guest even suggested that Abbott is deliberately making an appeal to Nazi voters in Texas. This was on CNN, wow.

9. I don't know. It's like bashing Westboro

Even the most arch conservatives feel safe doing that. I'll wait for Wolfie to take a more substantive stand before I give him an ounce of credit.
