...with a life full of promise ahead of him. Congradulations, you murdering hateful bastards who applaud the killing of yet another innocent kid. You have forced me to look inward and realize how much I hate every forgotten drop of your racial predjudice poison that slipped unnoticed into my heart from my childhood days. Had someone managed to bring the light of truth to the paranoid, fearful pertupator of this vile act before it was too late, perhaps things might have been different. This world might have been better for us all. Now it is too late.
(Edited to clarify - written after reading right wingers on local boards sick comments on Travon Martin . )

(37,573 posts)Trayvon died on February 26th. Since then, there have been about 75,000 violent crimes, and about 900 homicides. Over 2,000 people have died in car accidents.
Many, all too many young lives are cut short. I am not getting why Trayvon is supposed to be the only one I care about. How is he more important than the two young girls I mentioned? Is it just because he has the face that launched a thousand threads?
And I am quite sure that my post here will create more anger and maybe even some hateful responses. It is not that I do not care about Trayvon, but I do not care more about Trayvon than I do about Ranisha and Jalisa, et. al.. Why don't they get even one thread for the two of them?
Maybe Wonk would agree with me, if he was still here.
Wonk, if anybody remembers, was a DUer from 2002 or so. He got mad when there were threads expressing compassion for a FReeper whose child had died. He said that thousands of people die every day, and to prove his point, he started spamming DU with threads about people dying. He did it, I think, for several days and was given multiple warnings before he finally got a pizza.

(3,574 posts)...who have passed "stand your ground" laws, and similar laws have given a license to kill to every racist, right wing lunatic, and other mentally ill people. The posters above are correct in pointing out that this has been going on since the laws were passed. America is fast becoming a banana republic shooting gallery.
