Fresno Ca. 3/28 7:00pm “Courage to Resist Tour” Veteran Jeff Paterson speaks of Bradley Manning
the conservative Central Valley of CA has one of the higher rates of military members killed in theater and suicides and I hope word gets out about war resister Paterson coming to Fresno.
The "Courage to Resist Tour", presenting the case for Wikileaks whistleblower Bradley Manning, is coming to Fresno on Wed. March 28th.
Jeff Paterson--a military veteran who refused to fight in Iraq--will speak about the justifications for Manning's actions, emphasizing how Manning's case intersects with the larger issues of resistance to militarism and anti-war organizing.
Paterson will speak at C.A.F.E. Infoshop, located in Fresno at 935 "F"St., between Fresno St. and Ventura Blvd., off of Highway 99. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the program to start at 7. There will be no admission charge.
"Courage to Resist" is a group of civilians, veterans and military families supporting members of the armed services who oppose illegal wars and occupations, and the policies of empire. They recently published the book ABOUT FACE: Military Resisters Turn Against the War.
Bradley Manning's actions have been endorsed by Daniel Ellsburg, who released the Pentagon Papers; and Manning's nomination for a Nobel Peace Prize is being forwarded. Learn the facts about the significance of the Wikileaks material--what it reveals and what it does not. Come hear the side of the story not printed in the mainstream press. And, if you have not been to the Chinatown area lately, venture forth and see what lies south of Olive.
This program is sponsored by the Fresno Center for Nonviolence. For more information, you can call the Center at 559- 237-3223, or Richard Stone at 559-266-2559.
Also, Jeff Paterson will be available to speak to classes or be interviewed in the afternoon of that day so you can contact Richard Stone at 559-266-2559 about this.
