1. A final indignity--

not quite, here's your bill
How can I say this? It's as though Trudeau can read my mind. He always strikes at the heart of the matter and does it with such dry, droll style.

pressing the apple key and the plus sign at the same time if you have a Mac. On a PC I think you can press the control key and the plus sign at the same time.

Maybe this (together with the plus key) will work.

but not the graphic. Using Firefox. Something about how it was added makes this difficult for Mac users?

58. I combined the best of both worlds

I took the original two column layout--which was actually larger but too wide for the message board to display without shrinkage--and gimped into a single column. This should display nicely.

6. It's not like even a transvaginal ultrasound would allow a tech to see discrete parts

at that stage. It's smaller than a cashew nut with gills like a fish when most women abort a pregnancy and at that stage, all are female. There's also a yolk sac. Arms and legs are buds and that's it except the tail.

The Texas Proxy Rape and Fetal Shaming Law will undoubtedly increase business at Planned Parenthood here in NM. Yes, it's a six to twelve hour drive, but if I were dumb enough to live in Texas, it would be worth it.

17. I was wondering when this would be leaked

After all, our newspaper editors had the complete series last week.

Texas’s HB-15 isn’t hard to explain: The bill says that in order for a woman to obtain a perfectly legal medical procedure, she is first compelled by law to endure a vaginal probe with a hard, plastic 10-inch wand. The World Health Organization defines rape as “physically forced or otherwise coerced penetration — even if slight — of the vulva or anus, using a penis, other body parts or an object.” You tell me the difference. -Garry Trudeau

I wonder ... were they worried about the people who would be offended by the comic strip or the people who would be outraged by the actual law?

45. If the implementation of this isn't stayed, maybe it would help put Texas in play in November.

In 2008, Texas was pretty red (McCain 55%, Obama 44%). Still, with Hispanics making up more of the electorate, the Obama campaign has been making noises about contesting the state. If enough women have to go through this in real life between now and November, who knows what might happen.

67. Good roundup of info on this here:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/comic-riffs/post/the-great-doonesbury-abortion-strip-roundup-from-animation-to-aberrations-heres-how-things-shook-out/2012/03/15/gIQAD0yUFS_blog.html

Be sure to watch the animated video at the top of the page. It's described in item # 3 in the article.

Also, the editorial cartoon Bagley did for his paper after it decided not to run Thursday's panel. Be sure to read the paragraph explaining images he used.
