Yep, kids are always great. Too bad so many are indoctrinated and brainwashed into hatred. n/t RKP5637 Mar 2012 #3

I didn't want to get into technical stuff about legal marriage, because I knew what he was getting at, so I just said: "Yes, men can marry men, women and marry women, and men can marry women. All ways are fine." He just said: "Oh, okay" and that was it. He's in high school now and can't stand homophobia.

but there have always been enough gay and lesbian folks around that our kids haven't noticed it. They are 8 and 4 and it hasn't occurred to either one of them to ask about it. I always think of that when I hear people say "how am I going to explain it to my kidus?" Mine have never noticed. I can't think that it would ever stand out to them unless the adults around them made it stand out to them.

So funny how the righties are always "This is bad for the children!" but it always seems to turn out to be no big deal. Kids are smart that way.

Maybe we should elect kids to Congress. Kids and dogs.

My school was down the street from the Stonewall. Not know about gays? My parents told me when I about 6 years old. My Aunt, and Godmother, was a out Lesbian back in the 60s. HORRORS! Child Abuse! It was all very matter of fact with my parents, even my Old World Italian Grandma.

I happen to beleve being gay is GENETIC. I knew when I married a man (no gays didn't recruit me in the Village) who had gays in his family also, we had an extremely good chance one of our children we be gay. Yes, I have one gay child. My sister-in-law has 2 gay children. With my straight married daughter it is also matter of fact. "I will probably have a gay child". "So WHAT?"

This is a losing issue with the younger generation.

He probably wants tea with his biscuit. That's so gay.

Good on the kid and everyone else with success stories, but I have a feeling that in the majority of cases, there's more to be said as the kid gets older.
