(53,661 posts)I wonder if the Paulies or the Mormons will claim victimhood from this one.
Or if Sheriff Joe will get involved.
Pretty sure that Alex Jones will cry foul.
Thanks very much for the data, Owlet, more connections.

(12,153 posts)friends and family must be horrified along with being saddened.
When my husband was a rr engineer his train hit and killed someone. It was terrible, and my husband still has flashbacks of the incident.

(5,065 posts)My cousin committed suicide by train. Obviously she was beyond thinking about the effect on her daughters, whom she told that she was taking the daily walk the doctor prescribed, much less the strangers driving the train, but I've always thought about them, how helpless they must have felt.

(12,153 posts)your cousin. People who take their own lives, regardless of how they do it, are often deeply depressed and/or are desperate for a way out of a difficult situation. We have no suicide-by-train people in our family, but two of one my daughter-in-law's siblings killed themselves because their church made them feel worthless and evil for being homosexuals. One of them, a lesbian, shot herself in the head on the eve of her wedding to a man. Her brother, a gay man, intentionally overdosed on aspirin.
My husband hit nine vehicles altogether when engineering trains, but only one person died. Several of the vehicle drivers were trying to race his train with "chicky runs" at crossings. Stupid people.

(11,441 posts)He said they have a emergency button to stop the train, but it stops slowly because if it stopped too fast you could kill lots of people on the train. It didn't happen to him but a few of his friends had to watch in slow motion people committing suicide, some would never be able to work again.
