1. I'll bet you can really see the stars at night there!

It does look like they are living a very primitive life style without electricity.

12. A primitive lifestyle/no electricity would be OK if it weren't for the brutal oppression.

6. Indeed. The petri dish of South Korea holds the biological sample that has been ravaging this planet

The other one holds a less successful species of organisms that feed on each other, not all other non-human life in the overall biome that is this planet.

I fear our success will leave this place a blue bubble where ants, cockroaches and lichens strive to re-evolve into higher life forms once more.

7. What a stark contrast. The optimum, imo, would be something in between. We could really

cut down poisonous CO2 emissions by just doing away with a fraction of our "mood" lighting in the U.S.

16. Amazing that the (lack of) prosperity in North and South Korea was so similar until the mid-1970's.

11. Al gore approves this message....

Is that really the best we can say about NK? Pointing out how nice it must be living like it's 1895?

15. Bear in mind that South Korea is slightly smaller than Kentucky, but with a population

of nearly 50 million; the population density is about 1,270 people per square mile. Kentucky, by comparison has just under 4.5 million people, with a density of about 109 people per sq. mile.

Meaning: If S.K. appears to be overdeveloped, it's because of the above.
