9. He's just a buffoon

I was a long-time AM talk radio listener and was saddened in 1988 when Owen Span retired to be replaced by this blowhard from Sacramento called Rush Limbaugh. He wasn't as intolerable as he became later, but still only mildly amusing at best. He had segments on his show called "Gorbasms" which tried to demonstrate that "the only difference between Michael Gorbachev and previous Soviet leaders was that he was still alive". History shows how wrong he was on that and everything else.

A few months after his national show began, I saw an interview with him where he said it was all just entertainment and he didn't necessarily believe anything his radio character said.

I don't know what he really believes, neither do I care. He's just a rodeo clown who hasn't had critical feedback for a long time.
