Were the My Journal pages not transferred over to DU3? Do I have to start over?

1. They're still right where you left them

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/Lint%20Head

You also have a Journal which is fully integrated with DU3, which will (eventually) be hosted at your existing journal address. We still need to integrate it.

For now, you can reach your DU3 journal by clicking the "My Journal" link at the top of any page.

3. Will we get our formatting back? The DU3 version is like watching B&W TV

Very retro. And, where are the smilies?

6. There needs to be a button for smilies, and how do we insert photos into responses now?

One of the best things about this site was the ease of posting comments, photos and graphics. It's one of the reasons I preferred it over DKos. This version is less intuitive in its functionality than the "old" DU.

Are you trying to discourage the posting of videos and photos?

And, please make our old Journals active again, and bring back formatting.

7. There will be buttons for smilies, just like old DU.

And the procedure to post photos is identical. Just post the URL.

Same for videos: Just post the URL.

Your old journal is still active. Right where you left it.

8. Can I make a suggestion, please: put this beta version back in development, and bring back DU2

until DU3 is fully functional and ready to roll-out as a complete package. This New Version 3.0 release by dribs and drabs is very confusing and I suspect has already turned off a number of members.

Please.

9. The missing features are mostly minor things.

DU3 is already a much more functional (and I believe, better) software package than DU2, even with a few missing features. Most people will get used to it pretty quickly.

During the testing period, it only took a few days for many critics to embrace DU3.

10. Some do, and that's because

questions and complaints about DU have their own forum, the Help & Meta-discussion forum. If you have a question about or a criticism of DU, your post in that forum will get discussed and you'll get answers. While you may not necessarily like the answers, that's the forum for questions and criticisms.

The Hosts of Soapbox are trying to keep this forum, which is sort of a GD and GDP combined, on topic. Any Soapbox host can lock a post that doesn't match the Statement of Purpose of Soapbox. Right now, there are some new Hosts in this forum, and none of its hosts have been doing this for more than a few days. We're all still discussing what fits the forum's SOP and what doesn't. So, you may see some locked posts that don't match the SOP for a few days. As the hosts and DU members get a handle on what forums are for what purpose, the number of locks will go down. We saw that happen during the preview, and it will happen again. It's a learning experience.

Questions and complaints about DU3 won't get locked in the Help & Meta-discussion forum. They'll get discussed. Here, some may stick and some may get locked. Most likely, though, questions about this particular forum will stay in Soapbox and get discussed here.

11. Ummmm ?

"Questions and complaints about DU3 won't get locked in the Help & Meta-discussion forum. They'll get discussed. Here, some may stick and some may get locked."

So -

"...some may stick and some may get locked ..."

That's Clear??

Seems like if some DU Q&C are going to get locked here, then ALL DU Q&C that show up here should get locked - else why lock any of them?

13. Locking -- looks like your question has been answered

For future reference, this kind of question is better suited to the Help & Meta forum. Since the question has been answered, I'll lock this now
