Wendy Davis forced to sign afidavit to cast early vote.

Her driver's license includes her maiden name and therefore didn' t exactly match her voter registration. Fucking. Bullshit!

3. oh yeah

That's the whole point of the law, making it harder for likely Democratic voters to cast ballots.

4. That's ALWAYS the point of any restrictive voter law.

They can put all the lipstick and fancy clothes on it they want but it's still a pig.

2. They'll probably start running ads that she was guilty of voter fraud

It just wouldn't surprise me.

6. I fervently hope that 1) this is going to be tested in federal court and 2) that there are

organizations that help individual voters get to the polls and navigate the system. I would do it if I lived in TX or any other state with such voter suppression laws. But here in CT we have no such suppression for which I am grateful and happy...

8. well, until the law is overturned

it applies to even a known politican like Wendy. I kind of think this is stupid, an affadavit that is when a maiden name doesn't match the one on the rolls.

10. actually did

Poll taxes, literacy tests, etc. But we werent a true democracy. And that is what they want. In fact they need it to have any power.

12. no kidding

Those things were before my time - at leastvad adulthood. But they are back. But take heart. It is only because they are losing their power. And we are hitting back as smart and hard as we can in Texas at least. My job is doing it in my precinct.

As MLK said the moral arc is long but it bends toward justice.
