Why do they always start out with that when they are defending Rush?
Guilt by association?
Embarrassed?
or
Is it the truth and Rush's ratings are greatly inflated?
Other reasons are welcome.

(9,001 posts)They are actually saying: I don't listen to Rush's butt.... I'm only interested in his shit-for-brains.

(15,064 posts)It's like saying, "I'm not a cannibal but I like Silence of the Lambs."
Some ditto heads who don't want to be associated with him because it would make them look less intelligent use that language.

(12,336 posts)I liked "Silence of the Lambs" because it was a good movie. Nothing at all to do with me being a cannibal.

(15,064 posts)I meant to communicate an absurdity. If people say they don't listen to Limpbag then in the same breath put a "but" there you know they're lying at the "but". If they don't listen they wouldn't know and really wouldn't really care what he said.

(32,822 posts)I used to teach high school and every once in awhile some parent would come in demanding a book be banned. The principal had a form that had to be filled out. I had a parent in complaining about a book that talked about a witch and magic, demanding it be taken off the reading list, so he showed me the form. The very first checkbox was "Have you read the book?". He'd never had a form where it was checked "yes". Typical response - "why would I want to read about sin? Why can't you have books about angels?"
Oh, the book in question - The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe, C.S. Lewis' apologia for Christianity.
