Please write to your Congress Critters re: Rush Limbaugh and Armed Forces Radio

My e-mail to my senators is below, in case anyone wanted a draft to get started. If you live in Michigan, please note that Carl Levin is the chair of the Armed Forces Committee and a solid women's rights supporter as well, so he may have more influence than some. In NJ, my Senators are solid supporters of women's rights, but my congressional rep is useless. In any case, e-mail and / or call.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to express my dismay at learning that Mr. Limbaugh is sponsored by Armed Forces Radio. I am absolutely disgusted by his personal, vile, and completely unacceptable attacks on Ms. Sandra Fluke. Agree with her position or not, no woman should expect to be vilified and have her honor and reputation tarnished for expressing her opinion. Mr. Limbaugh chose to completely misrepresent her testimony and used it as an excuse to pervert (literally) the discussion.

On top of that, the idea that my tax dollars might be subsidizing this awful program is absolutely enraging, so say the least.

I am writing to ask you to work with your colleagues in Congress to 1) condemn Mr. Limbaugh’s attacks and demand a “real” apology and 2) remove him from Armed Forces Radio immediately.

This kind of misogynistic vitriol has no place on a government sponsored station. While I am no fan of censorship, I do not agree that Mr. Limbaugh has a right to be paid with my tax dollars to call women sluts and demand sex videos. And I certainly don’t think our men and women who are risking everything for our country deserve to be subjected to this ugliness. How, exactly does that help unit cohesion?

There is contact info and links to social media for the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the above link. Flood the damn contact box with comments detailing what Rush Limbaugh did, and that you don't feel that is appropriate for the Armed Forces, and they WILL take action.

There is a serious issue with sexual assault in the military, and these Flag Officers have had about enough of the behavior and attitudes of some of the neanderthals in ranks.

I guarantee you...if one of these Flag Officers sneezes in the direction of Armed Forces Radio...LIMBAUGH WILL BE GONE!
