http://www.mediaite.com/tv/current-tv-announces-morning-block-with-bill-press-and-stephanie-miller/Al Gores Current TV is taking the next step toward fulfilling its promise of a 24-hour slate of progressive news and commentary with the announcement that the network will debut a morning programming block featuring progressive radio veterans Bill Press and Stephanie Miller. Beginning in early spring, Press will anchor the 6am-9am time slot, with Miller holding down the 9am-12pm hours.

(6,960 posts)This is great news.
I've been saying for about three years now that probably one of the best, informative progressive radio shows is 'The Bill Press Show'.
Press's show is tight, witty, clear, entertaining and informative. For early morning, to get going on the issues of the day, Press is great and will be great on TV.
Stephanie Miller as a follow-up will fit perfectly.
'Current' is on an upward flight track and this is wonderful news for America's real patriots: progressives!

Uncle Joe
(58,029 posts)from a fart joke that LBJ told about Gerald Ford?
I didn't know that until I researched Ford to make a post on this thread in regards to Nixon's pre-Presidential conspiracy to prolong the Vietnam War so his Wall Street bankster, financier and investor cronies could to make more money.

"As Minority Leader in the House, Ford appeared in a popular series of televised press conferences with famed Illinois Senator Everett Dirksen, in which they proposed Republican alternatives to Johnson's policies. Many in the press jokingly called this "The Ev and Jerry Show".[47] Johnson said at the time, "Jerry Ford is so dumb he can't fart and chew gum at the same time."[48] The press, used to sanitizing LBJ's salty language, reported this as "Gerald Ford can't walk and chew gum at the same time."[49]

(4,106 posts)thank you Al Gore. Current is a good channel. Have watched many documentaries that were excellent.
Cenk and Keith are great and to add Bill and Stephanie would be like icing on the cake. Hope they go against Morning Joe and Fox and Fiends.
Putting Current as a single subscription would be a good move. I have all those dumb channels but what is the worse is those music and PPV channels that I have blocked so I don't have to scroll through them.

(1,122 posts)I'm glad Current TV is making these strides. The Young Turks was the best addition. Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm is also worthwhile. With Bill Press and Stephanie Miller, who are on Sirius Left, coming to Al Gore's network, I do have this suggestion:
Transform Current TV into a high-definition programmer!
Current TV should be in HD. It would make it look visibly better on my cable-television provider, DirecTV.
And, with 2012 still relatively young, I hope it happens this year.

(5,274 posts)The show is super funny, I wish Stephie weren't a complete Obama apologist but she is a hoot....and there is Jim Ward to balance her total Obama slurpage out, and Jim is an amazing voice impressionist, dead on with people like Sean Connery and Jack Nicholson.
Plus John Fugelsang, who is usually on once a week, is brillant and funny and a great foil to the righteous bible thumpers since he knows the Bible thoroughly because of his parentage.
Keith, The Young Turks and this, awesome.
