Montana Newlywed Pushes Husband Off Cliff to His Death

A Montana woman pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges Friday, three months after she allegedly pushed her newlywed husband off a cliff as the hiked through a national park.

Jordan Linn Graham was arraigned Friday in a U.S. District Court in Missoula, Montana, about 130 miles south of where her newlywed husband Cody Johnson fell to his death on July 7.

A federal grand jury on Thursday charged Graham with first- and second-degree murder and making false statements.

On Friday, she was read those charges but waived a reading of the indictment, according to a court document. She subsequently pleaded not guilty on all three counts, was released as she had been before, and her next court appearance was set for October 15.

6. I didn't even know we had Mennonites in Kalispell. There is a Hutterite colony over the

Mountains.

It's all cool. My ancestors, the ones who settled in Montana in the late 1800's, were Amish going way back to the Anabaptists in Switzerland.

12. wow how cool

there is a Mennonite Church (it's on Old Mennonite Church Road) just off of I think (35?) called Mountain View Mennonite Church in Creston. I was there to help them celebrate their 100th anniversary, in fact I was just there last weekend also...we stayed at the Travelodge in Kalispell.

36. You know the big bronze statue of a soldier in depot park in Kalispell?

My Dad and another man got that done, start to finish. My Dad posed for the statue. So the hands and body are his but they used a younger face because my Dad was over 70.

5. Sounds like she was worried.

From a text entered into the court documents in the differently titled article to which you linked.

Graham <the bride> then replied, "Dead serious, if u don't hear from me at all again tonight, something happened," according to a court document filed in the case.

faking an email account) in the hours after, along with telling multiple lies. Could be out of fear. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

11. You and I can wait. The OP has already determined and judged

as evidenced by the title change. Titles have effects on ones reading of the article and what and how the article is discussed.

Me? I'm going to wait to see if more comes out. She may have been starting to disappear because she was planning something. The question becomes, was the something murder or escape or something totally different.

did not intend for that to happen (the accused has admitted to the push and says it was an accident--still odd to change a title though)

20. Really hating the quality of "news reporting" these days.

More editorial and speculation than facts half the time and the other half appears to be constant lying.

Makes it tough for those of us who want to figure out what the hell is going on.

If you go to the story on the front page, that's the title, then the link itself it's different...besides, she pushed him to his death, she admitted that...ffs...talk about an assinine accusation.

26. I followed your link.

Your link had an article with a different title. Your link was not to the front page.

I posted something about titles a few days ago. No I don't expect that you have read it. That's not snark. It means simply I don't read every OP so I don't expect others have either.

Here is the link (it is my OP) and this is why I think titles are important:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023744243

Another reason I know titles to be important is because I have caught "news" sites changing titles to completely alter the meaning. It influences how we read the article and what we focus on in the article.

"Graham stated she could have just walked away, but due to her anger, she pushed Johnson with both hands in the back and as a result, he fell face first off the cliff," according to the affidavit.

Weather she didn't mean to or not--/ she reacted out of anger. You don't kill people just because you are angry. How about walking away?

I hope she is found guilty and serves a life sentence.

An argument. You go ahead and defend a killer. I won't. No mountain of evidence will not take away the fact she killed someone who trusted her ( that's what husbands and wife's do) --- if you are angry wiu walk away.

for it to be acceptable to kill your husband. She hasn't put up with enough toilet seats being left up, socks on the living room floor, and blaming the dog for his farts to kill him.
