I just started a petition to impeach John Boehner

But I've since been informed that such an action must be approved by two-thirds of the House of Representatives, which will never happen, so I will be withdrawing my petition.

Thanks to all who supported me in this attempt.

There must be some way we can put pressure on Boehner to allow an up or down vote.

Perhaps President Obama can use the Bully Pulpit to ask Americans to call & e-mail their representatives and ask that they demand an up or down vote in the House?

2. I don't think a House member can be impeached.

Censured? Yes. Investigated? Sure. The House could vote him out of leadership, I think. But who would impeach Boner?

On edit: He can be expelled, if the House votes to do so.


Article I, Section 5, Clause 2

"Each House may determine the rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two thirds, expel a member."

"Members of the House or Senate can be removed through a process involving only the chamber of Congress in which they work.
Under Article 1, Section 5, of the U.S. Constitution, a Senator or Representative may be expelled if there is a formal vote agreed to by two-thirds of the members or House body who are present."

Article 1, Section 5, Clause 2
"Each House may determine the rules of it's proceedings, punish it's members, and by and with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member."

I will be withdrawing the Petition To President Obama To Impeach Boehner.

5. Who is Boehner? I'm pretty sure the Speaker of the House is Rafael 'Ted' Cruz.

That's the only person who controls the House Republicans.

7. The White House can not initiate an impeachment. Only the Congress (The House) can do that.

So even if they took it seriously, they couldn't do anything about it. You might try sending that petition to John Boehner since that is his responsibility.
Article 1, Section 2, Clause 5

The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.

Article 1, Section 3, Clauses 6 and 7

The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried the Chief Justice shall preside; And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.

Judgement in Cases of Impreachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgement and Punishment, according to Law.

Article 2, Section 4

The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

Article 3, Section 1

. . . The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour. . . .
