(50,983 posts)compromise the general welfare of the people of the nation? The fuckers sent our jobs overseas and we are supposed to shut up and like it. Now they want to further strip us of jobs. WTF? Sounds like treason to me. No commie ever did the nation so much harm as this new crop of right wing corporatist assholes.

(3,190 posts)Now, they may not set off a car bomb in the middle of a crowded market, but they may as well...at least it would be quicker than the slow death that so many in poverty experience because of a lack of health care and other services, not to mention decent jobs so they can afford basic needs.

(28,498 posts)The plutocrats have made the word "government" mean something undesirable.
Their 30-year war on "We the People" has done considerable damage to the average American. We cannot let it continue!
Remember, when TeaBaggers, Libertarians, right-wingers, and ignorant Republicans cry out to destroy the "government," they really mean "We the People."
When they display signs reading "I love my country but I fear my government" they really mean they fear "The People."

(1,917 posts)this is almost exactly the definition of sedition, which is right up there with treason.
These asses are overthrowing our government from the inside, and using the courts and the media to do it.
It started long ago, think of the 'Great Depression', it was just a symptom of the over-reach of the very rich.

(32,723 posts)We actually have people in this country who dream of the fall of civilization and the rise of themselves as Aryan Masters.
This vision usually involves them having their pick of the women and the extermination of all other races on sight.

(25,406 posts)(1) is legal.
(2) is legal, except that "bribery" is illegal. But of course there is a fine line between bribery and politics as usual.
(3) is legal, provided that "voter suppression" does not rise to the level of actually intimidating voters.
(4) is legal, and is protected speech under the First Amendment.
(5) yes, that's a very big concern, because the only possible way for anyone to get access to news in 2013 is from newspapers and TV.

(136 posts)call it treason? Now, two steps beyond just calling it treason, perhaps start a list with names of individuals, businesses, corporations, etc. Next, what do we do about it, boycott, or perhaps massive civil disobedience.
I did not mention voting as it seems a rather useless endeavor in light of a method of addressing treason.
